Mine were very bushy. Fearing seeding, I was very limiting on my pruning.





As you can see, I have a lot of wasted energy under there. I do have a lot of nice buds on the canopy though.

It may be helpful to consider that different strains or phenotypes are likely to benefit from different pruning and defoliating strategies. In other words, there's no single correct way to do it. I've seen good crops come from my doing nothing at all. Learning by doing is best. Getting to know a strain by growing it repeatedly helps.

Agreed..... The next time I grow these two I will have a better understanding of their growth. (if I can remember when I grow them again LOL.) Only growing two this grow was less work than 4. Trimming took two of us all day per plant. Where my 1st grow I was able to do 2 plants alone in one day. These two grew so much bigger than my 1st 4 grew. In this grow, I can see the difference in sizes just between these two strains. I wonder if I could fill my 3x3 with just 1 of the punch pie.

20 to 24 inches above depending on the stage (and when I remember to raise them). At the end, the lights were maxed to the top of the tent.

Imo, sometimes the lack of pruning will cause low light stress of undergrowth and low branch seeding depending on the strain. I've never personally seen pruning/defoliation cause hermies though. But I'm still learning after all these years, that's why I'm here!

You can definitely fill a 3×3 with one plant and a scrog

plant don't turn hermie that easily, when that happen that's moslty because the plant was predisposed to it and lite environnemental stress,like low light penetration and airflow, triggered it locally on the plant, so don't be affraid of trimming

what's "tickling" me with your tent is seeing the floor in two of the tent corner when that could be filled with two more plants and some more colas with the same veg time.

yeah few smaller branches and lower buds sites that could probably be removed.

4 plants were a LOT of work. I was mixing 6 or more different nutrients with the AN. I would feed a gallon per plant. It was much easier with 2 plants and only 3 nutrients. I was planning 3 this grow but I will go 4 again. The reason being is the the order I placed on 2/13/25 is lost in the post office somewhere. I placed another order on 2/20/25 to get the sale on the tyson and 3 free punch pie and those came today. This grow is not going to be what I wanted.

That is not a bad thing. As mentioned above, I can see the difference in growth from the last grow and this grow and a different pruning method.

This grow was suppose to be :

1. Gelato44
2. White Widow
3. ICE
4. Haze Berry (a sativa dominant, so unlike me LOL)

Instead it will be:

1. Punch Pie
2. Fat Banana
3. Dynamite Diesel
4. Special Queen

The effects of the Dynamite Diesel are confusing....

Notice the last one.... "Uplifting". That one does not seem to fit in with the other 3. Pretty much the opposite.

In the meantime, I have informed Royalqueen about this issue and hope they can get better tracking information than I can since the are the shipper. They are really good so I am not worried but I really want those seeds, I spent a lot of time selecting those particular seeds and VERY disappointed that I have to wait for grow 4. I need to get something into soil or risk running out of this harvest. :(
