have a question about planting multiple plants in plant pots i built out of pallets. we all know most pallets are 4ftx4ft so the pots i built are 16 square feet round and 4 feet deep soil is a tad over 2.5ft deep i have four pots built out back i have 40 ploants in one pot and 40 plants in another pot just until i can know how many are males and how many are females then all females are going into one pot. my question is how many plants is to many to put in one pot i figure out of 80 plants should get around 30 females with a prayer lol. is 30 plants to many for pots this size? and also wondering how im going to separate the males away from females without disturbing the female roots if the males intertwine with the female roots. also maybe with say 30 females it would be better to put 10 plants in each pot. Also how much dirt should be in a 16 square foot pot for 30 plants or how much dirt for 10 plants iv thought of filling the pots lol give those plants roots to have room to have soil to share with each other.would be nice as well to know how to tell early what are males or not before they even grow pollen sacks any answers would be a very very big help. I live in maine i mixed cheap soil with coast of maine potting soil and fertilized the cheap dirt with 10 10 10 fertilizer their growing great so far just dont want them choking each other to death. gave them coffee water for nitrogen hope they can get some sleep lmao

Length times width times height divided by 7 will give you the gallons of soil. I run five plant in my 4x4 bed.

Well to me that's alot of photoperiods in one area. You'd need to do alot of training also. I'm thinking about 3ft space between plants so they hopefully would'nt crush eachother?

A quick Google search said the ratio of females to males is 65:35, so, 52 of your 80 plants should be female if the ratio is accurate.

Your starting these plants now ? how big are the plants and what part of the country are growing these plants .
Its late here to plant Sativa strains now.

personally I would develop a mother plant and clone off her for next year.
That way you know exactly what you got.,
Planted in the right time of the year sativa strains, the plants are monsters .
easy 10 foot diameter and you need working space around the plants .
