can’t personally imagine paying for it beyond my own grow expenses - any of you skilled growers ever buy pot anymore?

Meh, sometimes I get tired of what I've got and pick up something different just for a change. Even the best weed gets old if thats all you smoke.
I also buy different strains sometimes to see if I want to bother growing it.

I have'nt been out of homegrown weed since the late 90s but when Colorado went recreational legal in 2014 I decided to head up there and buy a sack just because buying weed legally without a med card was monumental IMO.
Since then there's been a few times I went back and bought something I've never had before. Live resin, edibles, and some hyped strains I wanted to see what the hype was about and see if maybe I'd want to grow it.
But as far as buying from a dealer while still living in a prohibition state...Have'nt bought a sack since '98-'99 and been living off homegrown.

Very plentiful in Oregun, I will have to say yes. I will randomly walk into a dispensary look at the menu. Request to observe the dry dusty bud in a glass container with a metal screen over the top cause you can not touch said product until it’s in a child safe container and you physically leave the property where the dispensary is located. I will go home take the bud out bust it open and observe the crap I purchased. 90% of the time the gram is placed in a drawer and forgotten. Spring cleaning usually disposes of the many mistakes I have made throughout the year.

I like this. I’m always will to trade if it’s up to par. 95% of the time it is not.
Some people get so full of their selves they won’t touch another mans product. I have been there but I pulled my head out of my a$$.
Especially when I hear people smoking 5 day dried buds talking about how great it is

This is the only reason would even consider it, I have a nice "stable of genetics"(a fancy way to say mom room) that I select my cycle rooms from. However that being said I try and trade first before I buy, but if I'm looking for something specific to sample to see if it even worth buying seeds of cuts for, I'll buy a a zip or two. If I can get two zips I usually run one into concentrates and smoke the other that way I get both profiles, I could make some MCT or olive oil but thats not really my thing, I don't like edibles that much, for me part of the reason I like smoking it is that it wears off fast and with edibles it just seem to run on too long and I lose more control of my motor skills, which I don't really care for unless I decide to get drunk. blah blah blah. Cheers:)

I've always made it a point to have different Mom's then my buddies exactly for this reason. We always throw a couple jars at each other when we hang out.

I haven't bought any weed in a very long time... I have had the opportunity to sample from friends stash though and they from mine.

some great answers here! harvesting plant 4 today (chronic), doing the jack herer last - already over 3.5 pounds dried/curing and expect about 6 pounds total...can’t imagine paying for it. for me, part of it is k owing exactly how it was grown (all organic feed and loamy soil). have friends and family with weakened immune systems and won’t risk any compromise (we toss any questionable mold, which hasn’t been a big issue this year). oh, and found a plumber who trades for service - now i just need an electrician!

I see nothing wrong with buying a little herb, but I won’t over pay. I have limited space so I can only grow so much and I love variety. So when I come across something worthwhile I will pay for it. Also when I travel I pay for herb.

/!\ Truth! just "donated" around 10 partial film canisters to a needy soul. Usually its a disappointment, and you knew better, but still went in and did it.
