I grew this toped auto matanuska with 200W. 2 75W LED bulbs with reflector and 50W on the sides with LED bars for maxium light exposure. Its missing one cola and the tip of another one because my stash was empty, oops! Im aware is not the fanciest plant youve ever seen but I wanted to post it because many people think that you need a 600W panel to start growing.

Here is another project Im doing currently, 2 26W LED bars, one for grow and one for bloom, 30 euros each bar. DIY cardboard indoor. At the time of posting the 3 in the back already started showing the first pistils. I just made sure to choose a small strain, like in this case blueberry auto, one of the smallest autos out there

I have an FD6500, 640w never really goes up past 65-70% same with the FC-E8000, 800w light, is running at 30% covering a full 4x8 vegging. For a single plant it’s overkill, the lights they make are mainly for an even distribution over a full size tent, but that tent is usually filled wall to wall. For a single plant 300-350w is probably more than adequate, and seeing as there’s options under $100 it’s pretty budget friendly nowadays.

PS your plant looks great

Thank you! I had 4 plants inside there, she wasnt alone :P And the previous grow I had 7, same lights, 200W for 7 very frosty but not very productive plants, still a lot for this set up! Here:

Doing wonders! No popcorn buds allowed, but if youre gonna put side lights to maximize the light coverage in all theplant is very important that is not a lot, otherwise your side branches might wanna go in that direction and you want flexible leds so you can point them upwards if possible. I never growed with less than 300 HPS and usually x2 300W HPS, so I was very unsure, but after seeing what I was able to get with so little light I inmediatly wanted to go for even less, which is the DIY cardoard experiment with x2 26W LEDs. I cant wait to go back to 600W but this time with LED, theyre so expensive tho! ouch!

I wish I had a more close to harvest picture, they still had to fatten up quite a bit when I took that pic (of the 7 plants, not the matanuska auto)

Here's 2 of the 7 grow close to harvest, these 2 grew almost 2 meters and I found it funny cause they didnt have that much bud in them but the sativa genetic wanted to show anyway

Oh yeah, another thing, for people who might not know, leaves can photosynthesize from both sides! Thats why you want them pointing upwards, I didnt just come up with it and think it was a good idea, I did my research, growing on a budget you dont wanna waste any Watt. Its specially helpful when growing tall sativas, I chop the bottom part still but it helps the lower buds, I dont like defoliating too much.

Okay so here is how the last 2 growing on the 200W look (they were 4 total, 2 are long gone, these took their sweet time). I just finished cutting most fan leaves cause the soil wasnt very dry so I dont want many leaves hanging there. (Yes, I made this thread to make time til chop time cause its 6:00am here and Im sleepy)

The total cost of this set up is around 270 euros. Tent, LEDs, intractor and extractor fan with carbon filter and additional fan inside. The total Wattage consumption of light, 200W counting fans is around 250W. Prices might be cheaper here in Spain, I dont know, but I honestly didnt think it would go this well. Size of the tent is 3x3x6feet (or 3,2? I cant even remember lol, too lazy to grab the meter right now).

Gotta say they do look like some nice buds, did you say 250g dry weight total? What’s that about 1.25g/watt that’s a decent yield for a low power grow for sure.

I’ve added UV/IR bars so far, side lighting is next on my list,, haven’t decided fully though, that FD6500 I mentioned earlier I was flowering at 50% power at about 24”, it’s supposed to have coverage for a 5x5 in flower but I’m in a 4x4 so I’m not sure if it would be better to add side lighting, or raise the light and power to increase light penetration something I’ll have to test and see

Thanks! 250g was when I had the 7 plants in this set up in 2 gallon plastic pots, now Im using my own super soil mix and 5 gallon fabric pots, they look way more productive there's no way I could have had 7 like these 2 inside there, but Im still expecting lower yeld than with 7, Ill check how much in a couple of weeks or so. And yes, Im using supersoil plus bottled nutes, basically the organic branch of AN gives you the most similar thing to compost teas inside a bottle since I cant make my own compost right now. I pushed them to the max with the nutes not gonna lie, I didnt care for a few burned tips.

Hmm.... UV and IR are definetely a big improvement if you didnt have them before. I dont know it depends if you can control the heat and make sure that the is not too much light too close to the plant. Adding side light helps with that if you dont have a cooler in summer, people who say that you dont have to worry about heat when using LEDs dont know what theyre saying lol. Another good side is that its not only mostly green light touching the lower side (which is the spectrum that penetrates your leaves the most) but you could have full spectrum touching all leaves. I dont know is the first time Im using side lights so I dont really know how much of a role they played besides the fact that I dont have popcorn buds now hahaha,

what brand are your 26W lights? im in the states so im looking to add UV and IR lights two and two and i would like to add 4 regular flexible led lights going up and down my tent poles on the corner. I beleive whole heartedly that they play a big role. but thats just me. Id like to get some of those lights. plants look amazing bro!

Thanks! Im not sure if you will have it there, its P-LED from The Pure Factory and those are the ones Im using for the cardboard indoor not the side lights, for the side lights you can just type on amazon "flexible led plants" and they will show, its usually 2 to 5 led bars attached with flexible body.

As for the flexible leds you need to search in amazon "flexible led plants full spectrum" and you will see them, they look like this with ore or less bars depending on the Wattage you want. I cant find the ones I bought, seems like they are not available anymore, make sure they have IR and UV if possible, they look like this

Something to consider when using the ones Im using is that they have a timer incorporated and they wont turn on with your temporizer so you might wanna search for some that dont have one themselves so you dont have to go around switching them off and on, I just went with a cheap option and I dont use it through all my grow, they also have grow and bloom mode, or both at the same time.
