Who else uses guano

What types do you use

Do you add anything else as well
Have you used it in the past but decided it’s not for you.
Do you use it as a top dress or do make a tea out of it

Have you used other forums of organic matter like rabbit poop or chicken poop

I used rabbit for a while along side guano

Yes, have used guano in the past,
Liquid is the way to go with indoor farming,
Summer outdoor I typically use as a top dress at end of flower cycle.
Care must be taken in both cases,
It’s super easy to burn.
I do not use indoor anymore,
The cost deficit to results just doesn’t pan out.

Really huh that’s one thing I don’t understand like my tubs I’ve had years and cost only around £20
Guess it’s more expensive nowadays

Super easy to burn & getting it bang on yeah I’ll admit thats right however as I’ve used it so long I kinda got used to it

I know it’s not the best way in the world & wouldn’t defend it like that mind

The other thing that concerns me is the pollutants that could be in the guano,
What goes in the mouth comes out the other end,
Since I’ve taken up fungiculture it has opened my eyes to the little details of pollutants throughout our food chain.
I’ve completely stopped using horse and cow manure for substrate because of what I see the veterinarian injecting into the animals throughout their lives.
Same with guano,
I still use it but sparingly.

I have a small tub which i mix into my medium, and ive just top dressed but a very small amount . Ive got two fabric pots 'fermenting' at the moment , ive got mainly soil , and a bag of orchid mix , with a few dozen rabbit droppings in. I also fermented some rabbit dung in warm water for 24 hrs and watered with that, some grass cuttings for nitrogen.
the orchid mix helps with drainage and charcoal helps witht the uptake of calcium , the bark does hold onto a lot of nitrogen but i thought that would be good after week 6 or 8

Yeah but I doubt anyone’s injecting wild bats or wild seabirds
The cow I get totally as it’s a farm animal that is known to be experimented on but guano isn’t sourced from farmed animals I wouldn’t think.

I use bat/seabird liquid an make a tea. I use it outdoors most during summer. There is a Wildlife Safari animal compound south of my town. It's a drive thru park or you can walk around the enclosed zoo type area. Once many years ago i had a truck load of zoo poo they call it delivered to our place when i had a huge garden. I tell ya it was elephant poop and lord knows what else and it grew the most amazing veggies. But also it had some sort of gourd seeds and whatever else they fed those critter probley even camel poop mixed in. These gourds/squash were the oddest shaped things. No we did'nt eat them we smashed them for the cows and deer.

Air pollution,
Pesticides,
Mercury,
Oil,
Ocean pollution is a big unknown because there’s so much,
Inner ocean is the worst where these creatures feed,
Remember only eat albacore not tuna,
Tuna is inland albacore is further out away from beach pollutants:)
The list goes on and on,
Also, only by local farm raised meat,
They care about there animals,
Mass farmed beef are for profit only

I don't want to rain on your parade but bat guano can carry a fungus that can cause histoplasmosis which can kill you. This is a link to a paper, https://academic.oup.com/ofid/article/11/12/ofae711/7917418, Histoplasmosis Associated With Bat Guano Exposure in Cannabis Growers: 2 Cases. Two cannabis growers died of histoplasmosis caused by using bat guano to grow cannabis in New York state. I would suggest using something else.

Seriously I don’t go around bashing fox farm , shou gun or the likes even though I don’t think there healthy
Folks need to get a grip seriously how many synthetic feeds or other type organic feeds are no good for you
I mean where do think they get there organic mixes from sterilised material I think not it’s exposed to the same elements everything else is exposed to.
I mean don’t you think the veg matter in the organic feeds comes from farmed material witch we know isn’t done naturally.
The ingredients maybe organic however were they come from may not

I mean think about it all the pollution you mentioned can be found in any other food that we probably eat daily

It’s impossible to get away from pollution the grass at our feet soaks it up etc etc etc

As for synthetic it’s the same story

We don’t what feeds are doing us harm coz there’s not enough research

They had a massive bat infestation in their roof and instead of cleaning it up like normal folks would they thought jackpot free guano so they were living in the filth

Wouldn’t of mattered bud if it was powered or not if it was tainted it was tainted

The point I was making was 2 outa of how many others used the batch but didn’t react.
Let alone how long has guano been used without anyone else dying it’s been used in crops an extremely long time.

Sry if I typed anything that isn’t cool

Here's the false info on forums things that annoy me, ( for the ones who get butt hurt im not implying this thread is ok muffin?) Lots of things should be utilized WITH respiration. Silica, guano's anything that can crumble into a dust you could breathe into your combusted pulmonary system should be avoided without some sort of respiration. Wonder how many folks got lung issues later in life thinking it was the pot smoking when in reality it could have been other contaminants playing a role instead.

I can see a loving father in these posts! Your a good man for trying to let them see what your saying. I dont see bashing at all......just folks giving you insight. To be fair theres tons of other options other then guanos that are just as good if not better!

So much for the free exchange of information and ideas. Yeah, it was two people but dying is a pretty serious side effect. And no, bats were not living in the attic as someone else said. It was being used as fertilizer to grow pot.

I get we all make choices in life but it's nice to make them using good information which I provided.

Take care
