Got a tip from another grow site that talks about cooler rez and room temps during late flower...

If you've just joined this thread: While the mother had lovely red-purple leafs, I'm not getting them with her 2 clones.

Been scratching my head why as it is cooler now than when I harvested the mother, BUT, I was running the ac 24/7 which may be the missing why, and current ambient temps not that cool

time to lower the room temps

Plants have been getting mostly pure water for a couple days, and CoBs only. Time to cut the lights to both

Probably cut down Friday

Started harvesting the weakest clone under the P3 this morning

I cut and trimmed ~ 60% before getting blurry eyed

Pics so far. As you can see first pic is 115 gms which was just one branch I had to snap early on due to being to long. All the trimmed = 385 gms, with ~ 40% left to cut down and trim (plus 110gms trim). Yes, I know it's wet weight, but 25-30% dry is about right:

Whew, after ~ 6 hours, I finished trimming the P3 clone. I forgot to take a combined weight, but will do so once she has dried

Time to start taking down the stronger clone (under the SE 250). I leave the plant in the tent (sans light) but still getting water so I can harvest at my leisure

The difference in weight and density of the buds is apparent. Clear evidence that the stronger clone produced better and more buds, even though under 50 fewer watts

Here are 3 top branches that I had to snap, so they grew vertically as well as horizontally

160gms and counting...

Plant prior to taking these branches (150gm trimmed), PLUS, the rootball from the clone under the P3.

So far, over 300gms with more than half the plant left to harvest

As you can see there's not a lot of roots. Why? Because with the frequent feedings they don't have to get big. Although, I suspect if I used a larger tote, they would extend further. I have no idea if that would make for a bigger plant.

Last batch for now...

Finally finished harvesting/trimming

Babies are doing well, a couple are doing extremely well, and likely ladies

Came across this interesting article today

On 11/30 I dropped seeds but had a pilot error issue. I think 2 of those survived (see 2 largest babies). Also dropped more seeds on 12/09, which are probably the 4 smallest plants

To avoid the possibility of root hammocking I took 3 plants from the original 6 plant bubbler (pic #1) and put them in another bubbler this morning

Another reason to love the Amare P 3 (vs the square panels) is better coverage over the 2 bubblers

Since I fixed the Amare P3 to the top of the crossbars, I kept the lenses on. But I also raised the height of the plants. This led to a bit of burn/bleaching, so this morning I took the lenses off

Odd, but the leafs on the biggest plant (left bubbler) are not reaching up (praying) like the largest plant in the right bubbler WTF?

I checked the roots. The left bubbler all roots are brownish (but new roots are white), but white in the bubbler on the left

I may have added EHs Root Wizard in that nute mix

Anyway, keeping an eye on it now

The 2 biggest plants are not quite a month old, the others: not quite 3 weeks

Note how thick the 2 main stems are already

I’ll be busting the 2 bigguns out of the nursery just as soon as their roots get a bit longer.

A lesson I learned last time: I moved similar sized plants from the bubbler into the F & D totes without realizing the roots would not reach to the max flood level. It took a couple days for the wilt to begin, and I think this somewhat stunted their secondary node development

Gottta get busy preparing their new homes, the other 2 tents

Final weight of BUDs only 321gms under 550w. I know not even 0.6g/w, but put in proper perspective..

These were 2 clones that were forced to stay too long in the veg bubbler, and their roots hammocked big time. Cutting them apart definitely took its toll, with one being the weaker of the 2

They are Diesel which bring > $10/gm, which would be $3200. Lights MSRP 250 $745, P3 $695. Factor in 25% discount = $1080, almost tripled my investment in money saved

This go-round I plan to put 2 plants under the P3, which should in effect double the output and then some. I need to replace the 2 smaller tents with another 5 x 5, which will let me get 3-4 plants under the 2 lights (SE 220 + SE 250)

IMHO, these lights are an absolute bargain

I'm waiting on a new tent, but may need to get the 2 bigguns into a split F & D before it gets here. That's where they'll stay anyway

Pretty amazing undergrowth

Tent cover is outside airing out to get rid of any chemical toxin residues

In the mean time, here's some pics

The 2 on the left are being fed from my DIY F & D

The tote on the right has 3 plants, the 2 bigguns will move into the new tent in an identical F & D set up.

The smallest one will get moved outside

3 plants already have coconuts. This leaves me with only 3 females, all of which can fit in one tent. But I just started assembling a new 5 x 5. Guess I need to pop more seeds

It's simply a storage tote with 3" holes to accommodate 3" net pots. This simplifies transfer to individual F & D totes.

Inside are 4@ 4" air stones. Large pump for lots of bubbles is the key to richly oxygenating the air space above the water line, which is essential for roots

The plant on the far right is currently in a bubbler (dwc, but shallow). I will be moved to its own F & D today, with fresh nutes. That plant has been droopy for a couple days now

The 'Y' is to flood-feed/drain both F & D totes to the left

The on caution is the plant roots need to b sufficiently established to reach into the flooded volume or they will starve (I learned this a couple grows back). This can be avoided if the rez has more volume. Now, that's a trade off as the res needs to be lower than the tote drain, meaning the plants need to be well above the floor, which eats up tent height. A shorter, wider rez would solve this

Yesterday, I replaced the air stones with a small lp pump to circulate. Alas, this morning (in spite of a 67* overnight tent temps) the water was too warm to maintain proper root health
