Love me some Wonder, total class guy..
He can be described in just one word. Talent.

We are talking about Stevie Wonder who is celebrating his 66th birthday today. Stevie Wonder was born in Saginaw, Michigan, in 1950, the third of six children of Calvin Judkins and Lula Mae Hardaway. He was born six weeks premature, which, along with the oxygen-rich atmosphere in the hospital incubator, resulted in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), a condition in which the growth of the eyes is aborted and causes the retinas to ...detach; so he became blind. He began playing instruments at an early age, including piano, harmonica and drums.

In 1961, when aged 11, Wonder sang his own composition, "Lonely Boy", to Ronnie White of the Miracles. White then took Wonder and his mother to an audition at Motown, where CEO Berry Gordy signed Wonder to Motown's Tamla label. Before signing, producer Clarence Paul gave him the name Little Stevie Wonder. Because of Wonder's age, the label drew up a rolling five-year contract in which royalties would be held in trust until Wonder was 21. He and his mother would be paid a weekly stipend to cover their expenses: Wonder received $2.50 a week, and a private tutor was provided for when Wonder was on tour.

He had a good paycheck when he turned 21.
Happy Birthday Stevie!!!! You are a true American treasure!!
Now, name your favorite song by Stevie!

Stevie is my all time fav: sad but true story: six years ago I was dating a girl from Amsterdam and was living in Barcelona at the time, I had a ticket to go and see her on a Friday but was too hung over and decided to delay a day. Well as my luck would have it, she had surprise tickets for me to Stevie wonder and quincy jones doing a tribute to Michael Jackson, quite literally my favorite performer in one of my favorite cities and I missed out!

Have listened to him since the beginning of "Little Stevie Wonder`s" career. Was born and raised in Flint, which is between Saginaw and Detroit. A true talent.
