Here are some pictures of my current pride and joy, an Alaskan Purple Auto. I've never grown it before and am new to growing period. I think it looks great. It's in a tent (took out for photoshoot) 100 Watt light. Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil and nutrients (currently Tiger Bloom). Planted early/mid January. Light has always been 18/6.

My question is when to harvest? I've read posts about amber, clear, etc. I'm color blind (technically color deficient). Can someone give me a general idea based on the pictures of where I'm at in the flowering stage and ways to tell if it's done? I tried to post some normal photos and close-ups. I have felt gently for "fullness" and maybe it's done? And anything else I should be doing for this lovely girl?
As I said, I'm new to all this. I'm use to just going to the dispensary and seeing nicely trimmed buds with no leaves. It occurs to me that the leaves may cover the bud in general and perhaps especially so with this species? I just don't know. I'm anxious to smoke and don't want to leave it too long (I assume something bad would happen?). On the other hand, I've waited this long and can show more patience if needed.
Thank you all!

Hopefully some even better photos. How is she doing? Harvest time? I saw @wallywonks has grown this species.

Can you get a close up of the trichs? So far from what I can see which is a scant amount, it looks milky.

@CannaGranny , here are some better photos. Maybe? I probably should make a separate post on "How to get close up photos?". I'm using an iPhone 13 and zooming in and snapping photo. Maybe there's a better way? Someone suggested "pistils should be red, not orange". Not sure I can see the difference between red and orange, but looks orange to me. I'm hoping photos attached show pistils and trichs close up.
Thanks!

You are pretty close according to the trichs. I’d say within a week. Your pistils could be any color. They all start out white, I have had green, purple, orange red etc.
True, the only way to “read” the trichs is to be able to clearly see them. Much better pics this morning!

For better or for worse, I harvested yesterday (4/22/23). Thanks for all the advice @CannaGranny and @sjs1488
I cut some fan leaves off. I was going to try and trim the sugar leaves off the buds after it dries in a week or so. I really don't understand how the dispensary can sell me buds where I'm not seeing any leaves at all. To my eyes, the sugar leaves are interwoven with the bud. I don't see how I could get all of them out and I'm not sure I should even try (I'm not the most coordinated person in the world).
