You are likely experiencing a phenomenon called guttation. This is a natural process that occurs in many plants, including cannabis.
Guttation happens when the plant exudes drops of xylem sap, often during the night. These drops can appear on the buds, leaves, or stems and may have an amber, red, or even slightly purple hue. The process occurs due to root pressure forcing excess water and nutrients up through the plant when transpiration is low, typically at night or in high humidity conditions.
The red color of the sap is not cause for alarm. Cannabis xylem sap can vary in color, ranging from clear to amber, red, or even slightly purple. This coloration is due to the presence of various minerals, sugars, and other compounds in the sap.
