Hi everyone, i'm a little curious about the fact that almost all cbd hashish sold in italy havent the classic smell when smoked.
Now, today i've made an experiment. I tried to force a piece of hash cbd to ferment, in a yogurt maker machine.
The result is that i can smell a little of classic hashish when smoke. What do you think is a placebo effect ?
And at last i'd like to know if there is a process to obtain that smell in the original hashish.

The vast majority of flavor active metabolites in Cannabis are cysteine/methionine/glutathione/glycoside bound and must be released by enzymes. Anyone who composts their leaves probably knows this. You can put hay/plant/nothing scented material in, check in ~24 hours and smell rich fruity hash terps. Depending on your microbes.

Hydroponic/commercial grows do not understand this. They believe enzymes are for cleaning their slime roots. They also think flavor comes from minor flavorless tree sap/fruit peel aroma constituents that must be frozen or whatever. Insane, backwards industry legal cannabis is. Tons of completely unsellable weed stockpiled waiting to be turned into distillate pens.. Why didn't they just grow it right, and have a product that increases value over time? Who knows. Who fucking knows. I've talked to hundreds of pot growers now and every one of them tells me oxidation is bad. Backwards.. It's especially nice when an organic growers grows absolutely sticky as fuck bud, that's completely unsmokable, because those sticky lipids aren't oxidized into weed-specific metabolites, due to lack of enzyme activity.

I fucking knew oxidation was good. I harvested my 2nd grow a few months back and cured for months in grove bags and it was giving me headaches until I started letting it dry more. Any advice for harvest Jeff? Also do enzymes not kill healthy microbes?

I think about commercial/industrial cannabis almost here in italy don't offer a product that is comparable in quality to that of wine, for exemple, maybe becouse is not totaly legal, nor illegal. Political situation that not offer a good ground upon which to build...the law leave too much to ambuiguity...

It's hard to say if the slight smell of classic hashish you noticed is a placebo effect or not.

However, it's always worth trying out different methods to see if you can achieve the desired effect.
