Anyone with a clone machine: do you guys do anything special with your water? PH? Nutrients? temperature? Time on/Off.
Lately, I see people making ridiculous claims elsewhere, like getting huge roots in 3 days. I've never even had extremely easy rooting plants like basil, etc. develop root systems
that large in my cloner.

Those claims are bullstuff in my opinion. Been using a machine since Ez clone started but I'm far from an expert.Saw that on fb also. Can do all those things and they won't look like that in 3 days. Never seen anyone's personally.Maybe a real scientist has an opinion.

I would put your pH and temps on and maybe put something in the water, but as long as you close should go. We lost a bunch this round. I think optimum time would be 1-5 put hard to find a timer that will do that. Huge roots in 3 days......maybe in space.

I usually just use plain old catchment water in my oxycloner. Usually see the start of roots withen the first week, then decent sized root mass by the.end of the secound week. I've read that EWC tea is good to use, but when I tried this last, the power went out because of the hurricane and most of the clones were lost. Since then, I've been waiting for more clones so I can start up again.
When I am ready to clone again I will try the EWC tea again in my oxycloner, and let you know how it goes.

I just got done cranking mine back up tonight. Been using root plugs for a while and theyve been working well on most strains.
Set timer for 15 on 30 off, and lowered ph a tad. In the past i used straight tap water and it worked fine. Gonna attempt to reveg some stuff.

Im mothering up sone plants through the winter months to take cuts in the spring for the outdoor season. Ive got a nice variety of stuff thanks to some great ppl. I was thinking about making a cpl clone machines for this. I usually just root in a fine peat/perlite mix in seedling trays w/ domes, but this takes up a lot of space. Figured I could put together a cpl clone machines and put a few to a plug. Once they made a few roots drop them into their little pots for a 1-2 week veg before hardening off outdoors , finally transplanting them into their permanent smart pot outdoors.
Ive used all types of rooting hormone and the best product ive come across is a concentrate called Dip N Grow. You mix it like 1 tsp/gallon of water. Its strong stuff, and I would believe someone if they told me they had roots in 3 days using this stuff. They'll fill one of those small blocks in a seedling tray with roots in 7 days for me. I then drop Em in pots, let em dry out real good than give them a mild dose of hygrozyme this gives cuttings an explosive start, an I swear by it. I think if I built a small cloner I could run diluted solution of the dip n grow thru it but ill have to find plans to build my own. I would recommend Dip N Grow to anyone. Im not sure who manufactures it bit I can only find it at one small farm n garden supply store in the area. If you cant find it I would def recommend looking for an online supplier. It's that good. It cuts rooting time, easily, in half and I've had 100% strike rate using it.

These were the roots I was referring to:

3 days? I'm calling shenanigans....I have no problem believing getting roots as early as 3 days but not as developed as the picture above. Especially when the same person posted something a month back where they had a single 1 inch root in 4 days and they found it surprising.

Most likely just the same phenomena as the fish that gets bigger every time you retell the same story.

I wanted to see for myself what kind of terrain was between me and the lava, so I tried hiking out to the lava from Ainaloa yesterday. Made it about 3/4 of the way, based off the patterns the choppers were flying, before the bush became too thick to continue without some serious effort.
I have a whole new respect for all the guerilla growers who pack in dirt and water to there ladies while trying not to leave a trail for the rippers to follow.
I did come across an old grow op out there, or at least a staging area.
I had heard it was about a 35 minute hike, but that must have been on a already blazed trail.

Yeah, Kalo....looking at that pic, the back plants don't look that good and the tips are trimmed...doubt if he can coax that kind of roots out in 3 days.
