My first from the start DWC, Bubba Kush femmed seedlings in a homemade 17 gallon tote. Almost 3 weeks from starting germination now. Had an issue right away my spring water runs 11-16 ppm usually, there is nothing in it. My last grow had some strange leaf spot thing I never could quite fix but some reading indicated the cal/mag was non existent in my water so I have increased my dosage. The one on the right took it hard but is comin back around, pics to follow

Shes at the 5th node now guess its time to top, of course gonna try for a nice fim cut. The result of an extreme cal/mag deficiency is very evident on the other girl, the new leaves are lookin good but she fell way behind. Since they are a sponcer gotta show off my freebie glasses and divulge my light which is a mars600 for now to be joined by another later.

Chuggin right along, still dialin in the nutes may have been a little heavy on the cal/mag and high on the ppm at 600 so gonna back off to 400. Warmer weather than I expected has gotten the res temp runnin warm 70+ after a few days so I have been changin the res once a week. Also was usin some hydroguard that I discovered was way out of date so I switched to sm-90 I think I had switched to that on my last grow. Trimmed off a few huge fan leaves. 3 weeks 2 days old today.

Lowered the ppm was 330 this mornin, new stuff is lookin a little better a little more pale green and the leaf clawing is gettin better. Guess I got a little too heavy on the nutes. Still tryin to figure out the best way to formulate my nutes since I am starting out with spring water at 11 ppm. I am using the gh trio with a cal mag supplement and sm-90 to treat the roots. Lookin happy again and the growth has started back in earnest. Next to decide whether or not to trim the fans off of the runt to open up the little branches

Think I have my nutritional issues under control now my delimma is the little runt. Its not gettin enough light especially now that I have had to raise them a bunch. I hate to just chuck it . Gonna build a bucket and see if I can lift it out and get it under its own lights

Got the runt out and in a new home. Was able to untangle most of the roots but had to make one cut to completely seperate the rootballs, the roots are very tough, more so than I anticipated but I used a good pair of scissors. I use 6 gallon softball buckets. I cut the top out of one to run the air lines and such through and that sits on top of another with no holes in it so I can have as much reservior capacity as possible. The buckets come with tight fitting lids and I have a hole saw that is perfect for the 6 inch baskets I am using.

Time to ask another question, flipped to flower schedule what should I add to my fertilizer recipe? Running 250 ppm sm-90, cal/mag, General hydroponics trio equal parts of each 3.

Way behind on tryin to open things up and get as many faces in the light as I can. Did I break the top? You betcha! Tape it up wrap some pipe cleaner around it and keep on bendin. The only reason I’m not havin a cow over it is I have done it before, let a four foot light fixture fall on my first growin attempt and they survived

So I am gonna ride out this unruly bush, I made a few mistakes early on. I am not happy with the general hydroponics fertilizers and am open to suggestions for my next grow.

A couple days shy of two weeks in flower. Still keepin it a 250 ppm or less any higher and the leaf clawing starts. Added Flower Fuel to the mix. This is the day after removin a bunch of leaves. Startin to get a tiny little bit of frost on em.

Had a long talk with customer service at Advanced Nutrients, even though I am usin General Hydroponics he was very helpful in explaining the whats and hows. I’m gonna switch to Advanced on my next grow attempt as I am not sure the almost two year old nutes I have are still good or I just cant wrap my head around usin them properly. One thing I was told was if the new growth is lighter green when emerging that indicates a low nutrient level as well as the purple coloring on the stems. I got information a while back that indicated the nice dark green I was experiencing was a bad thing and indicated my nutrient level was too high, his information indicated the opposite. Lighter green emerging growth is a sign of nutrient levels being too low. At no time did he try to sell me anything or cast disparities on any competing brands. I already have new nutrients on order for the next grow. My plan was to root clones but I will be starting over with new seeds. One important factor I took away from the conversation was staying on top of my ph levels and making adjustments daily if needed to keep things at 5.5 ph. Ph rise is good and bringing it back down is a normal part of growin hydroponically you want that fluctuation.

All new growth starts out a lighter green, and purple stems can have many causes but I've never heard it attributed to a low nutrient level before? If you're having trouble with GH wait till you switch to AN!! -good luck!

I think its mostly me and tryin to find the sweet spot while takin in information from multiple sources. I used AN when I first started and had good luck till I ran out and switched to GH and things went haywire. Again its gotta be me. This is my first hydro from seed attempt I guess I should be happy they arent dead. I am running stupidly low ppm for flower, 250, gonna once again start bumpin it up slowly, cut back on the N and increase the bloom nutes
