I have read numerous posts on this site alongside my first grow to find advice and helpful tips on what to do. Decided to make an account and join this community to help myself and others as best I can.
I am towards the end of my grow going into the 8th week of a flowering Maui Wowie that has been manifolded. It has been an interesting journey learning to grow for the first time as there’s a myriad of resources online to pick from. That being said, it can definitely be confusing for someone like me deciding what to do based on one site and having another site saying not to do like for instance flushing. I made the mistake of doing the flush in 1 day compared to doing over 1-2 weeks like how I’ve read is supposed to be done. I am worried about my plant and how it will respond to this. I performed the flush 2 days ago with pHed tap water and got the ppm down to around 400. I have the plant in a living soil and used flower fuel with complete crop twice leading up to this week. I realize this was a mistake in hindsight as you don’t need to fertilize living soils but here we are. I am supposed to go on vacation this weekend and won’t be back until next Monday so I won’t be around her. I am wondering if it will be ok until I get back or if I should harvest it before I leave on Friday. Any advice or suggestions is much appreciated.
Also accidentally split the main stem so that has some electrical tape and tie wire holding it together

that still has a bit to go,..
quit flushing and just water as normal, even let it get nice and dry before watering again..

So don’t supplement anything that it’s deprived of as a result of flushing early? It has everything it needs to finish out for the rest of 2 weeks?

you can give a tiny bit of the flower fuel

I'm not a soil grower so I won't comment on feeding but she looks pretty healthy and probably has got a at least 3-4 weeks left due to the absence of dark pistils/trichs. If she's really sativa dominant you're looking at 80-90 days until ripe!

Thank you! Only the top colas are starting to develop the pistils and everything below is still forming. Can you share any advice about flushing? I have seen so many contradictions about it online that I think have a basic understanding of it. If you grow completely organic then you don’t need to flush. Correct? That rxgreenlab article completely disproves the theory behind it so I really don’t know what to believe

I'm not exactly sure why you flushed based on what you posted. In hydro, 400 ppm runoff would likely be too low for this stage of flowering. Like I said tho, I'm not a soil guy so hopefully some of the pros can chime in. The pot looks plenty big enough to hold enough water for your vacation, imo the worst that can happen is that the fan leaves will be more yellow when you return because the plant draws nutrients from them during a deficiency. That's kind of what they're there for though. The plant might slow down a bit and yield might suffer slightly but you're not going to kill it and the buds are pretty much set at this point. The flush might even make them ripen faster. (Oh you probably flushed because you thought you were done...I understand now)

Too many new growers are constantly throwing things at their plants trying to fix problems that they actually created themselves by messing around and micro managing too much.

I flushed bc I read online you’re supposed to do that 2 weeks before harvest so the plant uses up its reserves which will then produce a much smoother smoking experience. Additionally, the runoff should be under 400ppm but one site said 50. I’ve also read that in doing so can hurt yields but I’ve also read some of the biggest development happens during the flush phase so

don’t be flushing you lower the nutrients until finished

Ripening/development happens at the end of flowering no matter what. It's based on hormones not environment. I decrease my feed after peak flower because they don't need it, but I never flush unless I've accidentally poisoned them with too much food. Even a really well fed plant is going to look malnourished and die eventually.

The jury is still out on the smoking harshness/experience thing.

I did a flush in hydro once just pure water for 2 weeks plant didnt change color at all and smoke was same as usuall.smooth smoke comes from a nice cure.allsoo that white and gray ash is basically how you made your joint do you pull in fast and give it lots of air to have a higher burn temperature or do you pull slow and burn at lower temp

Lots have said it, and it's true for new growers especially... If you think it's ready, it has a couple more weeks to go! Even seasoned growers get antsy and wanna chop chop chop
