You are waaaaay better off doing a little EVERY day. Otherwise you will be fucked. Get in there and stop whining. Get a bunch of wire cuz you are gonna need it to tie back all of the branches that are close to the lights, and all the other ones that get too heavy. You want to anticipate and tie them before they break.

Also start trimmn out the guts of the plant. Anything small and down low should be removed. A little every day. Not all at once. If it were really that easy everyone would be smashing it. You are off to a great start, but now you have more work to do. Wait till harvest LOL.

Ain't THAT the sad truth! Just seems to overtake you unawares! I've literally had problems come up overnight on more than one occasion!

Apple Pie - Awww...don't be scared! There's nothing to fear but fear itself! :D I find the garden to be a very serene, tranquil place. I've had large rooms in the past, but now...even with my little tents...I can get lost there for hours. Many times when the only gardening I need to do is to be patient and wait, I'll pour a glass of wine or cup of coffee, get pleasantly medicated and take a book in the room to read. (The lighting is great...haha). It's probably my favorite place on earth and is certainly a stress-free zone! I find excuses to spend time there!

Don't be afraid of your plants. :nailbiting: Ya'll are not going to hurt each other! I'd try to make friends with them (all mine have names). There's so much to be awed and amazed over in there, that once you get over the initial apprehension...I'm betting we'll never get you out of there!

Relax, have fun, and keep an eye out for them ugly "nanners" we all hate to see pop up! One male flower can easily open up and pollinate (spoil) the entire room. This can happen overnight, so if you don't know what they look like, I'd find a pic on the boards here so you'll know what to watch for...AND THEN WATCH! ;) I'm running Animal Cookies right now, but haven't grown out the GSC. I'm early into my first run on the AC's, so really don't know what to expect yet, but I have heard that Girl Scout Cookies is a hermie-prone bitch most of the time. If GSC is one of the strains...I'd be in there viligantly and often!

P.S. I noticed you said you had discontinued the co2 because you read it would make them grow more. Don't let your fear rob you of a great harvest! At this point the only thing the Co2 is going to do is make your buds bigger. Once the stretch stops, the plants will put all their energy into flower/bud production, and will not grow any taller. I'd add the Co2 back in straight away!

Thank you for stopping by Mr. Capulator! (takes a bow, lol) I saw many of your posts/replies to posts... I am highly inspired by your knowledge.

A little update:
I finally had the nerve to go in there and did some work. Somehow I pictured gardening a little different, just with a different plant, but boy was I wrong! I had to recruit the hubby (with his spinal fusion) to help and he was definitely not too pleased. He thinks I'm using his medical problem as an excuse to grow (I was the one to suggest getting the/his recommendation.. haha), but whatever LOL

@shawnskush - I did defoliate 50-60% of the leaves for better light penetration.
@mayo - I attempted to tie some branches back but there seem to be too many to do. It was fairly difficult to move around in such tight spaces, so I bought a net and cut it up and kind of just threw it on top. IT'S A MESS IN THERE!! *GULP
@vaporedout - thanks for the air-layering tip, let me research on how.
@caregiverken - I did cut all the lower branches that's less than 1/4 inch like you said.
@max - I grew some tomatoes and herbs and all, but it just wasn't so intimidating.

Over all, I am having fun except that I wish this crowded garden can finish more quickly so I can plan on creating better spacing next time around.

Hey Apple Pie! Good for you, sweetie! Way to get in there! LMAO at you throwing the net! Haha. I saw it in the pic and it looks to me like a giant-ass spider got in there, got super high, started a web and either finally just gave up, or was so stoned he couldn't remember what he was trying to do and just left. :D

All kidding aside, that netting will work better as a Halloween decoration! It's not going to be much use in holding up heavy buds and limbs! I strongly suggest screwing up your courage again soon, and coming up with some good support for them, or you're going to wind up with limbs breaking and buds all over your floor, falling into your lights...you don't even want to think about what kind of mess NOT giving them support is going to cause you! aare you somehow air cooling your vertical bulbs? it looks like in ur first pic the bulbs in a cage ,OVERa outlet fan,intake. can anyone else see were im coming from?.you must.look how apple has her bulbs!over open flanges:-)looks like a type of air cooling device.if it is exellent work.lol if not?think about using them that wat.

Day 27: It looks like they grew quite a bit in a couple days time... (sorry about the pic colors, haven't quite get a hang on using this camera with so many functions)

Thanks for your comments spacebomb. I am running 4x1000 bare bulbs, the light cages you see are some type of fencing bought from home depot bent into 2'ft circular rings to protect me from accidentally walking into the lights. The 10x10 room is air cooled with 15000 btu window unit, four fans facing up is placed on the floor under the lights (mimicked from photos I've seen here on the site lol). 70 pints dehumidifier is also used.

I do have a few questions though and hope that someone here can help direct me.

1) My CO2 tank ran out yesterday, since this is supposed to be a sealed room (with no intake/outtake air/fan), MUST I HAVE TO replace the tank? Will I run into any problems down the road if I don't? aka, mold from lack of air?
2) I realized yesterday that I didn't properly cover the dehumidifier lights (its a yellowish green color), I have since corrected it, will that cause any problems for me?
3) I test the reservoir almost daily, and it never fluctuated outside (PH 5.58-5.86, EC 1.7 to 2.2, PPM is always between 1000 - 1200). However, some lower branch leaves are turning color at the tip and some small leaves by the cola site is clawing down. Am I doing something wrong? I use AN sensi AB, B52, Big Bud. (too much? too little?)

Hi shawnskush. I didn't "built it" per se, its a 10x10x7 tent and double wrapped with black white poly (quality of tent was aweful, seams are leaking light) so I would imagine it is pretty sealed...

You're doing fantastic Apple-Pie and I can tell you that there are lots of jaws dropping after seeing your "little" first time grow. Quite the accomplishment. Lots of good advice in this thread so far and you're on track to have a huge beautiful harvest. You're still in a steep learning curve, but every run should get better. Sometimes it looks like two steps forward, one step back, but don't be discouraged.

So now, IMO, you just have to watch out for any problems that will put your run in jeopardy. I can see that you're good at researching, deciding on a plan, and executing. I would say the biggest eventuality you want to prepare for is pests and pathogens. Yes, it is an eventuality - maybe not this run or the next, but at some point you will have to deal with mites, root aphids, thrips, fungus gnats, or powdery mildew. Early detection is key to your crops health. Start by doing your homework in the infirmary subforum and keep reading those grow journals!

Hey ApplePie, fellow first timer here!

I can't offer you any advice that the more sagacious members already haven't. All I would say though is don't worry so much. Nobody will get everything right their first grow. Just get in there everyday and have a good old look at them. Notice the changes ( which happen daily, and not always in a bad way ) as come your next grow there might be signs of something you'll miss out on.

I've got four on the go and two have mine just took off for space when I flipped them. I thought about cutting them down to get a more uniform canopy but then thought, fuck it, i'm going to carry on and see how it goes.

Definitely, if you haven'talready, look at staking the longer stems. They're really going to lean/bend as the flower develops!

Good stuff though and all the best with the remainder of your very first grow! It's just so exciting i'm almost excited for you!!

P.S. don't know if you've had a play around with your camera yet and figured out how to get better photos but with mine I found a good setting for getting clear pictures under the HPS lights. I found when shooting in just normal mode I'd get a black and orange striped picture. What I did was to change the white balance setting to Tungsten. Maybe a camera tech savvy person could guide you a bit better but this seemed to do the trick for me.

if u can.. maybe go in an take out some of the growth that's not budding as fast as the rest of the plant.. will cut down on the shitty small buds that take mad time to trim !

OH MY GOD!!! haha wow wow... Yous deff gots a hand full. but don't worry yourself, there seems to be plenty of ladies a growing. But if you feel the need and to ease your worries, clearing a few out to give you some room...do it. its best to be in a calm and happy state of mind when growing, the ladies can feel your karma.
A lot of peeps will say, oh don't cull some off...don't listen, do what you feel is best for you. It looks to me you got plenty going on, so thin the heard out. Just sacrifice the ones that look like they are weak or low producers.
because over crowding can be problematic, not that I have to tell you. LOL
You'll have a better run next time around. plus you'll have a little experience, and with just a few big trees under your 1000 watters you will be able to give them much attention. try super cropping and LST (low stress training).
And you best get your co2 going, cause in a sealed room with that many ladies, all available co2 will be used up fast, and once that happens...All growth will stop, not a good thing.
You deff have a green thumb, and nice technique. And about everybody has done the ooops too many plants at once, shit now what?
