Fyi, the first week or two is considered germinatation period and you aren't supposed to start counting days of growth until after the second set of leaves appears.

Cheers doc didn't know that!

Also it's lights out in 20 for 6 hrs now if it's gonna save power and make more productive plants then hey I'm all for it. I really only had them on the 20/4 to reduce the real cold down time they had when they were young

That's why they're bushy, I have mine at 18" and they're growing out more than up. But that's what I'm going for.

Well there's one culprit. 20/4 hours? You know the plants that sleep for 6 hours are usually the best. My advice, let them nap. They grow in the dark also. 18/6 my friend.

Any proof of that? I've never found any evidence that supports that

Yeh I dropped on to 30+ inches last night the bigger one. Unfortunately I'm broke for a bit so can't even afford light hoists. As you can see I'm using crates etc.

It thought they would stretch if lowered but wasn't sure at that low I'd light intensity would be sufficient with LED

It makes sense they need rest but I've also seen amazing results from friends using 24/0 in veg but they're more HPS or whatever it is etc. The big bulbs lol. Ages ago.... in another life

I've got some pretty decent nutes for flowering. DM One flower but also boosters including big bud, candy etc

That 18/6 is superior to 24/0

Both approx 40" from lights now seemed to enjoy the extra rest they had. I hope keeping them at this distance will make them stretch now. As mentioned the stems and nodes are good it just needs to expand now. Thanks for your help guys I'll let you know how it goes

I had another theory I wanted to query... haha that rhymed - if the baby plant I'm about to sprout is only 30 days old when the others are turned, can I theoretically give grow nutrients to postpone the flowering? i know it wouldn't be able to be done long, if at all successfully, but just a stoned thought I had... Also I'm guessing it wouldn't have reached sexual maturity by then so that would also delay yes/no?

Hey so I'm new to this site and don't know how to upload photos but until we get that sorted out here's a few details

LED grow - was 600,900 and now 1200w (have a 600w mars and 2x300w)

Plants are in a soil/perlite mix

I know I topped too early

They have had cal mag + nitrate added in last few weeks

Probably water every 3-4 days

Plants are recovering from Nute burn a week or so ago (flushed and have fed way lighter since)

Growth is slow

The strains are supposed to be tall sativas, yet are bushy and short for age. Strains are Raspberry Cough and Sour Lemon. Also I've just planted a Strawberry Cough seed that I'm going to not top, over feed Etc and hope for the best when I turn it at approx 40 days old (as I'm putting a veg restriction of 100 days max on others)

First grow using LED

Please help me make the most out of the last 40-50 days I need them doubled/tripled in size.

Currently in a 80cmx80cmx160cm tent going into a 1.2x1.2x2 when they get bigger

Nutrient line up is just DutchMaster A+B grow and the calmag + nitrate

Hope that info helps and I can work out to upload photos then hopefully get this sorted

You definitely should be going 18-6. A dark period Is just important as light. They only look short because you topped them so young. If you want to stretch them raising your lights even a few inches could do that for you but personally I wouldn't even worry about it. By the time you flip them they should be just fine. Besides don't forget when you flip them they are going to double in height especially a sativa and you don't want to run out of head room. Your temperatures are fine for veg you could even go hotter as long as you have sufficient air flow but at flower I would definitely cool it down a lot.

It's not necessary but compost tea wouldn't hurt occasionally during veg.

Also should have mentioned they were outside (in Tent) however exposed to really low temps the first 3-4 weeks so I guess shouldn't expect heaps. I do however want to yield 6 oz overall that's my ROI with prices here and what I've spent

Temperature fluctuations are bad.

Haha fair enough. Yeh I don't really know much about composting or making tea. And as for the baby well i will know how to treat her better this round so should be ok for a bit of smoke. Will look into teas

Yeh couldn't really help the temp fluctuations either at the time. It won't fluctuate again. It's steady now and at decent temps

Using a good tea will create a protective coating on your plant and help it from getting disease and insects. If you want excellent flower you need to keep it nice and cool throughout the entire stage of flower. You don't want any hot spikes heat will ruin your flower and make it weak and harsh.

Should be even cooler in the next tent it's 1.2x1.2x2 mtr so I'm guessing heat dispersion and a few more open ducts on bottom should help I'm also considering getting a 4in unline duct fan to draw cool air in as well

You should be ok at veg they can withstand a lot of punishment but at flower it is crucial.
