Hello all,

I'm running one Mars Hydro TS1000 in a 'just under' square meter stealth cupboard. I have two plants growing nicely and have switched to 12/12 bout a week ago.

As the space is more rectangular than square, you can imagine how the spread is working out when 18" above the canopy.

So I've been researching additional cost effective lighting and thought I would sign up here present my doubts directly to the OG's

- Would buying 2 lower lumen small led panels to wall mount either side of the main TS1000 be a solution?

- If so, can anyone yay or nay something like this Sansi 45W (https://www.sansiled.com/products/45w-led-grow-light-uk-only?variant=45316585717986)

- Also, as my girls are suffering now that they're trying to flower, would a similar product but Deep Red be a better option!? Still considering that the full light doesn't fully spread!?

Apology's if Ive posted this in the wrong section or if any other protocol has been violated, I'm a Forum Noob and not sure of the cultures customs. Many thanks for reading and for any advice in advance if you're able to help

KK

Just get another TS1000 or a 200 to 250 watt elongated light like two TS1000's would be side to side. Forget about side lighting and move on...

Cheers guys!

Only issue is flowering is started and Xmas is looming. I might have a nose around to look for a second hand TS1000.

Thanks again

Looks like leaves are heat and or light stressing. Then some of them appear to be praying. May want to double check temp and humidity. Some of the leaves are saw toothing and canoeing. Others look like there praying and still others are collapsing on the main vein of the leaf peddle and droopy. looks like she is a sativa dominant. But who knows with todays crap fufu hybrid weed. But some of those sativas can be as nutty as some of the modern women out there. You might just need to adjust on your current lighting, environment and feed.

Got some pics of the whole space? Smaller areas can be tough to grow in but they can throw down I got a PL1000 in a 2x2x36” tent

What would your budget be, as in could you max out the space if affordable? And any way you could measure the exact dimensions of the space?

Not that I’d want you to spend extra money but I’d rather see you get value for the money you spend

Good morning,

Here’s an older pic of when I first started putting the cupboard together. It’s actually slightly less than I wrote yesterday in a hurry (now that I recall)

The dimensions are (1.1x0.6x1.8)m

Therefore, it’s 0.7m^2.

I’ll be trying to organise something soon but it’ll have to be cheap (approx £50 -£100) in the short term.

So in the metric world your running a undersized 2' x 4' x 6' or 23.6" x 43.3" x 70.3" at around 15 watt or so per square foot. Which is about half what one needs to light the grow. So you need a good 230 to 250 watt light to get at or just above the min. of 30 watts per square foot. Or another one of the lights you have and that would still have you at the bare min. The only time we care about enclosure volume is when looking at exhaust fans. And like lights people way under size there exhaust fans and end up costing themselves more money doing things a second or third time. Think of your lighting and ventilation needs like your motorcycle, car or truck. You don't buy a vehicle that you have to drive around throttle on the floor to do 60 mph. You want enough power to ease on down the road at 60 mph at 25% throttle.

Hi again @Blastfact, funnily enough, I took the PAR route earlier and found similar result to yours from the way of the watt:

Everywhere I checked with said that 600 to 900umol/sm2 should be aimed for with an increase to 1000umol/sm2 for flowering!?

Therefore; if I am to aim for a PPFD of 1000umol/sm2 in my space, I would be looking for my source/s to equate to a PPF sum total of,

(1000umol/sm2)(0.6m2) = 600umol/s

And as I saw from some reports that the TS1000 produces approx 242umol/s despite Mars Hydro stating 343umol/s LOL.

I now have a deficit of 178umol/s which is approx 74% of the PPF that the TS1000 provides, Which agrees with you in that I should just get another TS1000 and run them both for a quick fix.

However; I was curious before in that, if I had 2 aux lamps they would need to be 90umol/s each or 4 lamps 45umol/s each; which is why I wondered about the amazon full spectrum that actually shows the specification data and states quite high photon flux, I wondered if anyone had used them and could report.

You can't believe anything from amazon china light manufacturers and there corrupt specs. And most users are not going to spend the money on quality meters to test the ppfd or spectrum muchless a cheap kill-a-watt to check the amp/watts draw to truly do a bit of math and see what they really have. And I don't know if I have ever seen a true verifiable third party independent lab test most or any of these china lights. Some of those china lights claim to have great samsung leds on them. Then real geeks spend the money on them and take them apart just to find out they only have a few real samsung leds on them. Or they are the low grade binned leds that other manufactures won't have in their products. You really think they are buying spec leds to meet all the so called colored leds they claim on there lights other than red? My money's on color is equal to how they bin out in the selection process. Even with the red leds. One is mind fucking themselves if they think all those claimed spec of leds are purpose built to be the spec and thrown out if they don't. How do you think they market the lights so freaking cheap... It's just not cheap labor.... Enjoy!

Ha ha, totally agree!

I've obviously only bought the TS1000 so far (and lucked out by the looks of it), but not surprised that the same frugal decisions in their build choices as that seems to be the way with everything nowadays and everything is made in China.

I appreciate and will heed your experience/advice, I'm trying to work a way of getting a little extra scratch pronto and grab another Qboard, but if backed financially into a corner, I'll post up how it went with the pony ones.

I don't really see the issue. First, I would download the Lux app on my phone and adjust the height to ensure the plants are receiving over 30,000 lux. While the results may not be optimal, you could still easily harvest a crop.
