So I noticed a few nugs appeared to look burnt? Is it something I’m doing or is there something eating through the bud like an insect?

Might be catipiler damage. That dried up dead sugar leaf is a good spot to open the bud and look. Will be tiny so take your time looking. Additionally, you have mites. Tiny white spots on leaf and if you look at the last picture there's a small web in between the top left leaf.

Thank you for the advice! I was using FoxFarms " Don't Bug Me " spray but I guess it wasn't working very well. I switched to a bacillus thuringiensis Garden Safe insect killer and going to see how it does.
