Looks like insect damage, some kind of borer, or stem rot possibly. Unfortunately, I have no experience dealing with either so I can't really help if thats indeed what it is.

Pests or fungal or both. No matter what it is you will want to remove that branch. With it removed you can dissect it and get some good images for diagnosis.

Check out this thread as well, this post shows the branch damage. Very similar issue.

Have you seen any pests around that plant? Check under the leaves.

Nothing to crazy i had, thrips briefly but I sprayed her down good with an organic pesticide. That seemed to do the trick. I cut that small branch off and took a look. It definitely was necrosis, the stem was hard and brown in the small section. So im thinking it was from prior stem damage, looks like a fan leaf got ripped off and peeled down the stem. The main cola stem appears to be good and healthy around the damaged branch point so I'm just gonna keep an eye on it and go from there.
