It has been HOT where I live. I went out the other day to water and she looked like this. I did miss 1 day of watering prior. This is my first time growing and I’m starting with just this one plant outside. Should I trim the bottom leaves? Does it need something I’m missing? Any advice would be great!! 1st photo was prior to watering, second was about 18 hours after watering.

Remove the dead leaves at the bottom of the plant.

How much water did you give them? Did you water to run-off? What is your watering routine? I have some hot peppers outside that have been doing the same thing. When they wilt, I move them into the shade for a while. Do you have a mature tree you can put it under during the hottest parts of the hottest days?

I water daily, generally in the evening. The bottom has holes for drainage. It is currently in the sunniest part of my yard so I will move it! Thank you!

Is the plant drying back between waterings? Typically, unless your growing in coco, a grower would not be watering daily. I realize with the heat, it speeds up the evaporation process and soil will dry out quicker but if your soaking the soil correctly a pot that size should not need water daily ... If you're not watering all the way until you see run-off, that is also part of your issue.

It’s not just about heat! It’s about humidity also! If it’s hot and humid than the plant will transpire less! And the soil will evaporate slower! Contributing to a hotter route zone!Leading to more time between watering! If it’s hot and dry just the opposite! Humidity plays a huge part!

And having well, aerated soil can make your life a lot easier also! Everything is just going to stagnate in a dense soil! You need to keep that transpiration train, rolling along on the tracks! If you grow a happy route zone, the plants will take care of themselves! Hopefully a good amount of that perlite got mixed into the soil when you started!

thats over watered , the leaves are hanging due to the water in them...just because something has holes in the bottom doesnt mean its draining and /or getting air in. try and get it up off the ground and if you can drill some holes around the pot especially near the bottom . when you said you missed a day i am assuming you water every day. this one hasnt been watered for 4 days, it will wilt a bit when it needs watering.

Dude, I don't even water daily when the plants are in full bloom, 6' tall, and in 15 gallon fabric pots. I think the closest I got was every 3rd day. If you're watering every day, you're probably over-watering. I would let those dry out a bit between watering's. Over watering looks very close to under watering when looking at the appearance of the plant.
