Any ideas why this is happening?

I woke up this morning and my extractor fan was turned off- the rm in my tent was 80! It normally sits around 65. Would this 1 slip with the extractor fan cause this? Or is there possibly other issues ? And what should I do? Scrape the top soil with the mould and remove ? Other than this the plants are coming on fine !

The mould is harmless to the plant. The problem is that you are over watering.

Agree what you have is caused by overwatering but it's likely mycellium, regardless you're going to have issues going forward if you don't get your watering correct, good luck

I’ve read so much about it being such a common mistake overwatering and I’ve still managed to do it! I did only water them 2 days back (I did think I let them completely dry out down to my knuckle in the soil ) should I maybe use less water but more often ? I only water each plant around 300ml per watering ( since they have been in the bigger pots they have been watered twice )

Well there's your problem, I don't know who started this dry down to your knuckle bit but it's probably why most noobs over water

search on this site 'wet/dry watering cycle' and feel free to tag me in if you have any further questions good luck
