why ph when growing in soil?Hello my question is if my water ph is 7.0 -7.2 will that be bad for my plant... also if I use that water will I have to make sure soil ph stay below 6.7 or should I just use water with ph 6.2-6.7 to keep soil ph at needed levels
Please advise
I'm sorry I don't understand your questionwhy ph when growing in soil?
no but growing with those mediums you don’t have to be ph ing your water.. there’s ph buffers in the soil.. might even say it somewhere on the bag..I'm sorry I don't understand your question
I have ocean forest, root organics, and black gold soil mix
Edited: if u mean what is ph of soil I haven't check
nothing wrong with using it..no but growing with those mediums you don’t have to be ph ing your water.. there’s ph buffers in the soil.. might even say it somewhere on the bag..
but if you did use the ph up down with those mediums already than you have to use it the entire grow..
I was looking at bag didnt really see where it tell me ph i will check againg ...So you never ph ur water?nothing wrong with using it..
just saying you don’t have to depending on your medium..
i use promix HP or BX and never have ph anything before..

no i don’t.. a few years ago i tested ph just to see and it was high 7’s even maybe 8.I was looking at bag didnt really see where it tell me ph i will check againg ...So you never ph ur water?
Wow that good to know.. and your saying your soil ph actually regulated it ph on its own??no i don’t.. a few years ago i tested ph just to see and it was high 7’s even maybe 8.
yes providing that i use “organic nutrients”..Wow that good to know.. and your saying your soil ph actually regulated it ph on its own??
Can you give be some organics nutrients to buy thanks... im completely new to thisyes providing that i use “organic nutrients”..
if you use synthetic nutrients than yes you should be ph ing..
ok.. yes i will but i should look over the mediums you got there first, but i’m heading out to clean up my outdoor grow area and i’ll be back later..Can you give be some organics nutrients to buy thanks... im completely new to this
Wait what? Is 7-8 ph actually good? Youre the first person I see from all the articles and forums I saw that grows with such high ph, every nutrient absorption chart shows that 6-6,5 in soil and 5,5-6,5 in coco is the ideal ph for micro and macronutrients. Iron, manganese, boron, copper and zinc are not absorved properly in alkaline soils. Every soil mix I have available to buy wether coco or peat has a ph range from 5,5 to 6,5 and rarely 7. Since youre staff and probably experienced and Im new here maybe there's a secret that I dont know about this.no i don’t.. a few years ago i tested ph just to see and it was high 7’s even maybe 8.
I started my recent grow with Ocean forest im on week 3 right now never checked ph or added anything except water not sure what the ph of the water is but everything appears to be going great. I'll be starting nutes maybe next week or the week after. I'm a new grower tho so I don't have much to compare to lol.I'm sorry I don't understand your question

OK that was one of my main concernsI was told ymto use organics nutes. Also are you growing indoors im doing mine outdoor wmbut starting indoors at first stage with no grow lightI started my recent grow with Ocean forest im on week 3 right now never checked ph or added anything except water not sure what the ph of the water is but everything appears to be going great. A pH above 7 is okay when growing in soil with organic nutrients. My tap water usually tests in the 7.0 to 7.6 range. It's the synthetic nutrients that require adjusting the pH because they have a "sweet spot" of about 6.2. It's at that point that all the nutrients can be used by the plant.Wait what? The soil you bought comes with a ph from 6,3 to 6,8. Tap water is around 7ph or higher, not a huge difference so your substrate has kept an optimal ph for your feeding but the more you water the more your soil will adjust to the ph of your water. You can grow with an alkaline soil but the results are gonna be underwhelming in comparison, your nutes might adjust the ph for you, most organics tend to lower the ph, or even non organics with some kind of acid added, but if you dont know I highly recommend you buy a liquid ph test like the one from General Hydroponics (if you dont wanna spend money in a ph device), if your nutes are not lowering the ph of the water enough your yield will most likely suffer. Also when you are adding some other components like lets say silica, the ph skyrockets so you might wanna adjust when giving silica suplements to your plants.I started my recent grow with Ocean forest im on week 3 right now never checked ph or added anything except water not sure what the ph of the water is but everything appears to be going great. I grow organic but depending on what I add I need to adjust anyway, I dont follow just 1 feeding chart as I have different liquids from different brands for different purposes. I think its always good to make sure, if you already made sure then youre good but the experience might be different for someone using different nutes, even if they are organic.A pH above 7 is okay when growing in soil with organic nutrients. “…many ph up liquids are citric acid anyway…”
