For both but I already have a hps so I need something better for vegging

Size of your grow area would be helpful as well, there are TONS of factors to take into consideration when growing. It will most def be overwhelming in the begging but if you hang in there you will know this shit like the back of your hand in no time. The true secret to growing that nobody ever preaches IMO, is to find out what works best for your climate and area. You will see so much conflicting info online its not even funny, you really just need to research and try things out until you find what works!

Yeah man thanks I know what you mean I have been reaserching but I think if I ask people with some experience it.will help me some more I want to know everything like the back of my hand. And if anyone.wants to know I am growing in a closet thats 9 ft high 4 ft wide

What is the depth of the room? I am guessing 3 or 4 ft. That 600w HPS should be fine for that size area, if this is your first grow i'd just stick with that light for the whole grow, keep things simple. Definitely going to need ventilation as well.

these are 5500 k has blue and some slightly red but great for veg... cant beat the price...2 for and free shipping. I use the 85's myself.
get 4 of them...bamm that 340 watts...use a pie pan for individual reflector....

Master Kush have you considered flourescents for veg with blue spectrum bulbs then hps for flower you can get twin tube t-8s for about 25.00 they will work for your first grow they don*t penatrate as deep as t-5*s but for cheap first grow then ease your babies into the hps low power then increase to full power if you have adjustable ballast,just info,good luck,Peace

Get a 8 bulb 4 foot T5. They're about $180

That's good for about a 4x4 space, all u would need for a 600 to begin with

Like triple J said stick to the hps for the whole grow if you can keep the temp down.

It works well enough for small personal grows from my experience and you won't have to put out extra money for cheap equipment that might fail in mid grow.

That purdy girl is grown under a 1000w Hps with digi ballast dimmed to 75% It Just started week two of Veg!!

Happy grown
