Help.....please!!!!

I have a 120 by 120 tent with 600w hps light and 4 Inch in-line fan and carbon filter. Plus a small oscillating fan but I'm lost as to setting up the electrics with the timer.. Do I connect everything threw my timer or does my fan/fans stay on 24 hours a day? I've looked everywhere online but nobody ever explains about setting up the timer or how my plugs work together. I really would appreciate help please...somebody..
