So this is first time I have attempted to grow plants. They seemed to be doing great. I went away for a week and came back to some buds looking purple and some normal. I think it’s bud rot.
1. is it bud rot or normal for this plant?
2 if it bud rot..should I harvest now and cut loses.
3. Should I cut out almost half plant and let what’s left keep going.

I think I have at least 2 weeks until I should harvest.

Purple colour can be linked to cold temps.
I would say no it's not bud rot buy looking at it.
If you pick at the "bud rot" it should pull off very easily opposed to healthy bud.

No worries.
Some strains turn dark purple, or even black before they're ripe for harvest.

This is a GG4 just before harvest (October 6th).

Nah just good looking buds. Purple is natural for some strains and temp induced for others.

that is perfectly normal. if there is bud rot the trichomes will not be there and the rot usually has a grey or mint green coloration like mouldy bread. your buds are looking great. As some one else said it brought on by the cool weather the closer to frost we get the darker it will go. I am 35 minutes East of Toronto and mine are starting to show purple also
