Frustrated. Wanted to back off the liquid nutes. Local grow shop recommended it. Says he’s had good results and it could carry a plant through flower.
My veg stage the plant are nice and green. In flower not so much. When they stretch I get the same leaf pattern, then the leaves start dying back into the buds and the pistils start dying(turning brown way too soon).

That's because of what I tried to tell you above, your soil becomes depleted and it's pH levels drop significantly

I recommended you do a soil test but like I said fundamentals are passe Best wishes

Out of curiosity, how did you land on choosing Happyfrog to begin with?. I've heard of it and assume it's a good choice for some situations, but from all my research so far (again, I'm no pro), I get the impression that Foxfarm is a safer bet for a beginner. My first grow was pure Foxfarm with no nutes at all, period. The grow came out perfect. The autoflower came out pretty good, especially for a beginner. Again, no PH, just tap water. I've started using nutes, but my strategy is that if I need to completely stop, then I'll do that because I know for an absolute fact that the Foxfarm grow came out right by itself. The nutes are just an experimental additive and come secondly.

But, I guess also I'm just lucky my water works out. I'm sure some tap water might require adjusting to go right.

I'd also like to ask while while I'm at this if you're re-using your soil? I'm going to assume the answer is no on this but want to ask. I remember having some issues with leaves that looked pretty serious like yours and that was when I was making a beginners mistake trying to cheap out and re-use my soil.

I believe happy frog is made by fox farm( the company). It has less nutrients in the soil than ocean forest. I have no problems with auto flowering plants in Fox farms ocean forest and top dress after 30 days. My problem is with photoperiods.

I did forgot to mention the product I was talking about, but it was Oceanforest. I was totally unaware that you were successful with auto's and that this was pertaining specifically to photoperiods. Sorry. I'd have even more questions on that like how long do you let them go for before switching and stuff like that, but I'll probably just sit this out since I haven't really done photoperiods before. Though, not sure how much different it would be since those are small enough to be autoflowers?.
