Help with clones?

I'm not sure what's happening with clones.
For starters I'm newer to growing.
- Top of clones drying and wilting away, while bottoms still root in about 2ish weeks.
- Roots have a tan look especially closer to stem but are not slimy. Roots and stem stay firm.
- There is a white crystal looking fungus growing on leaves and stems above donuts but is not powdery and does not disperse when touched like PM.

- p.h is sitting at 5.8
-Temps of water and room range from 65-80 depending on warmth of outside.
-Humidity range is around 50-60%

Looks like fungus on that leaf stem. What if anything have you tried? I've seen growers root them in 7.0 water and even tap. I've been using rain water in soil with root hormone and sprayed with 325mg aspirin mixed in treated tap water. No problems.

How To Clone?

Been having pretty good success cloning since I posted this, been cloning loads now Lol love it. Have basically been doing as you say here, I put em straight in water, cut a nice long angle on them, scrape them and pot them, i cut the leaves in half and put straight into soil, I've not been...

I believe it has something to do with the ez cloner. Everything I'm coming up with search wise looks similar to root rot.
If I put it straight into soil or rockwool I have no issues.
Every clone is rooting and if I leave a couple fan leaves they grow out of it.
With the clone machine I run bleach for a few hours the h202 and rinse down to kill anything that has grown. There is brown debris at the bottom of the cloner. I use a rooting gel and clonex solution at 35 ml/gal.

Powdery Mildew.
You can clean and clean - a good idea but that will not eliminate the local spores. You have to defeat the conditions that allow it.

I've used Green Cure. Its cheap and works well. If you are misting these while they are rooting, you should probably mix it in with the misting water. And it has a simple, understandable composition and method of action.

To be a proper indoor farmer where humidity is an issue - you need to know this foe well. Folks in places like Colorado usually never see this as a serious problem.

Oh sorry, also to add I do mist with a green cure/water mixture and spray with a neem solution as well depending on what I feel is necessary.

I wouldn't recommend the neem unless you have a mite problem. The Neem could be why this happens, IMHO. And that isn't something you just do for the hell of it.

I have not used a ez cloner bit do understand hydro. This is just some food for thought.

If I were to run an ez cloner I would do it sterile with tap water. No rooting hormone or other additives.

Change the tap water every 3 days max. To help keep bacteria, fungus spores and population in check. They will exist no matter what.

Air in means air out and that means humid air likely carrying some deposits since it's not actually evaporative has to escape. So I'm thinking the splits in the holders are the likely venting areas and that could be a problem. Make a vent hole above the waterline to allow humid air to escape but do so in an area that won't allow light in. This could be as easy as not filling a cloner hole and covering it with an upside down cup with a hole that doesn't recieve direct light.

It may not sound like much but I'm betting it will fix your issues.

I only use neem when I see evidence of thrip, which I have. Some of these clones have never experienced neem, which I feel eliminates that being a cause.
