good day all i have just recieved my cannister of co2 itsin a long bottle with a twist valve at the top for the co2 to come out. this is the first time i have used the stuff while growing. i have got a grow tent 1.2x1.2x2.0m, with a cool tube a carbon filter and a ocalating fan. i have not got a clue how to use the co2 and i am looking for advice on how to use it. i am gonna do it manually cause i cannot afford to buy the equipment you need for it to do its self. really i am a total newbie to co2 co and info would be greatfully appreciated.

if you just got the bottle i wouldn't do it, you at least need a regulator and a timer...

Put the bottle down and walk away. You will do more harm then good.could even kill yourself or others. Put you time and money where you can use it. JK

You need to under stand CO2 will kill you and any one else inside your house .If not regulated at a safe level A C02 controller is a must!!! You need to get a regulator with a solenoid and a co2 controller ,DO NOT OPEN THE BOTTLE AND LET ALL THE CO2 OUT YOU WILL DIE...JACK

I agree - it would be crazy to just open the bottle and walk away - you need a regulator and a timer (minimum) but in reality you should use a controller which is a 500 dollar investment.

thanks guys the co2 will be put away until i can sort some thing out maybe next crop. alls i was thinkin was to let the co2 out slowly for 5 mins every 3 hours with the fans off, then before i went in to put the co2 in again i was gonna run the fans for 15 mins to get rid of the old co2 and then let it out for another 5 mins and so forth. but if you guys think it a no go then it will be a no go. thanks .

could some one please post a pic of the equipment i would need.thanks.

I too just picked up 20LB CO2 bottle with a hydrofarm regulator kit, now I was wondering by that chart from this post it says to do a 14 min burn every 3 Hours?
(For my room specs)
so in a 12 hour cycle would mean I am having the CO2 kick on 4 times for 14 mins. every 3 hours.
while the lights are on?
Does that seem a little too much?, or dos that seem about right?

Thanks

keep in mind if your not running a sealed room and have active ventilation you can just toss that chart out...

I have the same Instructions when I read that I am to do a 2 hour burn then have it kick in every 15 min seemed a Bit too much, has anyone used this hydrofarm regulator?

yes I am running A/C, but have my A/C and exhaust fans on a timer so that when the CO2 kicks on my fans turn off. And I do not have a sealed room environment.

room specs are 7x4x7

thanks

i don't have a controller i just have my co2 come on for 15min every 2 hours, 6 times in a 12 hour period, first when the lights come on and 15min before the lights go off...my old room was 16L x 3w x 9h, my cfh on my regulator is set at 2.5, and i calculated for 1500ppm ..since i don't run a sealed room works great.. this is bottle not burner...

bigdrty i would do for your room to set it around 1.25 to 1.5 cfh 15min for every 2 hours just like i do,works great never had a problem...

nice, thanks I'll try it out tomorrow, start off at 1.2 for 15 min every 2 hours.. did you turn you exhaust off?, or did you just let them run straight through?.

thanks...

I dont know about the 2 hour burn, I just dont want to wilt the leaves, which I heard that can happen if your plants get Too much Co2, Or is that not the case?..

I will be doing 1.5cfh spray for 15 min every 2 hours,
with the Initial 2 hour spray in the beginning.

I'll let you know about the results, Sorry for highjacking this Thread.
