At the moment I'm only on my second grow using standard equipment in a tent inside a single brick dwelling ... Obviously not gonna be able to create the perfect climate all year round. So I've been thinking of trying to do a sealed room setup. I was gonna put a 50mm layer of rockwool insulation with fireproof plaster board after doing so my room size would be 1.8m,1.5m,2.0m with a bit of room for equipment. Would this be enough protection from the outside world And is it possible in such a small space???

I used durafoam insulation board. It comes already reflective and is very cheap.

You will need a dehumidifier, humidifier, AC, heater and CO2 supplementation with controllers to do so.

Looks good ... I've already looked at equipment. I might have to use a mini split AC because wouldn't be able to hide a window one lol. I was more concerned if 1 brick and 50mm of insulation was enough to be able to control the environment

If price is a concern and you already have a room or structure dedicated to it, you could order a roll of Panda film from Amazon or something and use it to line the floor, ceiling, walls of your grow room. I think the stuff I got was about 6 mil thickness and 10f x 100f for about 80 bucks per roll shipped.

A large mylar fire blanket or three would also work well.

The insulation should be fine. I chose rigid insulation because it's easy to seal and a vapor barrier that's not going to absorb water

Okay thanks I'll look into other institutions now I know that it'll be thick enough.

Take a look at the R value of the insulation. The most I would recommend is R-19. Insulation is graded by R Value. There is information on the web about R value, but basically the rigid insulation, polystyrene and polyurethane have higher ratings for the thickness. Traditional insulation is spun glass fibers.

Yeah my house is set to 69F and the basement is colder. I use 3/4" and a tiny 300w heater that never comes on unless its lights out. I have no issue controlling the temps whatsoever. Its washable, joints are easily sealed with foil ducting tape and no risk of mold or water absorption.

Thanks for the advice.. here it's around 32F on average in winter some times lower. In Sumner it gets upto around 80F. That's why I want to make sure it's properly insulated.

If you are seeing 32 in winter you could go higher, like R30.

Thanks again... And do you think a 9000 BTU mini split would be enough to cool in summer?

It'd be 1.5m,2.2m,2.0m and I was planning on using 4 gn telos 0008s which are 240w each.

Basically a 5' x 7' x 7' room. 9000 BTU will be fine. From what I know if I was going to seal up the room, run CO2 and dehumidifier and humidifier I might consider a bigger unit, but that is just because I would rather have it last.
