Hey fellow farmers!!

New, here. Well kinda.

I've been lurking for a little while and feel like I am finally ready to start making contributions to this amazing board you guys have established here!

I just wanted to introduce myself and say HI!!!

I have grown once in the past, it was my first.... and my last. But now that I have my medical card its time to grow my own stash!!! what a blastt!!

sometimes I drop rhymes when i get excited....sorry bout that :icon_animal26:

Anyways, I look forward to starting my first LED grow, based off one of your fellow member's thread. C4SP3R!!

Once again, I look forward to being a part of this great community and learning and sharing with all of you!

I just sprouted a pack of Tom Hill Haze. Trying to design a sealed closet with 2 - 600 watt hps. I have the ac installed and running ducting to vent the exaust. Just a slow process. I started the pack to light a fire under my ass and get moving.

I used to do Modular scrog on anoter site. I have since tore down and rebuilding. I have been growing for about 5 years. I think ill probably start a Journal Here too. Are you going to do the same?

Thats awesome man! I am glad to hear you have many years of successful growing behind you, you probably have a lot to offer! I do plan on creating a log as well, so whenever your's goes up.. shoot me a link so I can sub to it ;)

I plan on starting my second grow with LED's this time. Ive been reading CA5P3R's thread and I am pretty convinced I want to get the 357 magnum light.

At the moment funds are low, and although I would like to grow many plants (license allows me to grow 12), I simply do not have the money to buy more than one light.

I current only have a GrowLab 40 which is - 1'4" x 1'4" x 3'11".

I am considering doing one plant in it and doing some LST and SCROG'ing it so that I can get the most from it. However, I really dont know if this would be the best idea.

Maybe I should invest in a Homebox which is 4x4x6'5 and its not that much $$.

I think since I already have the Grolab 40, I could use that to keep a mother going with some CFL's or something while I use the LED in the bigger tent on like 2-4 plants.

Once again, I am still trying to figure out the cheapest and best way I can do this. Being a newb is kinda difficult. I am sure you all remember when you were first starting to grow :)

Anways, any thoughts or suggestions would be more than appreciated. Thanks!

I dont have experience with LED but i would love to give them a try someday. you Problably should depend on someone else for advice on that.

I do know scrog and you wont be disappointed with it. I was able to pull on average 3oz per plant with a 2' by 2' space. Thats 12 oz every 70 days. That was plenty for me as i just grow for personal use. I bet you could double that with the 4x4x6'5 homebox. I will check out CA5P3R thread.

When you say you got 3 oz per plant in a 2x2 space, and you got got 12oz every 70 days, does that mean that you had 4 plants in that 2x2 space?

Yes i made 4 custom screens that attached to 4 gallon square buckets. They fit perfectly in my cabinet.

Do you have any suggestions as to what I should attempt to place in my tent which is a bit smaller than yours?

Maybe I should just invest in the 4x4 home box and start my grow off in there with 4-6 plants? Do you think that one 357 magnum would be enough light for 6 plants?

Also what did you mean by you made 4 custom screens that attached to 4 buckets? Do you have any pics of this? Thanks again for the fast responses brotha!

Sorry i cant say on the LED id have to research it.

HEre is the buckets and screens.

Most strains i vegged until it was full under the screen then rearranged colas during stretch. I could always cut extras off.

Ahh this makes perfect sense now! Thanks for the great pic.

Since I plan on growing in a tent ( I actually think 4x4x6.5 might be too big for me), I will use some screen from Home Depot attached to the sides of the tent so that I dont have to build a contraption as you did. :)

Anyways, I think a 2x2x? tent should be good enough for a couple ladies... especially for my 2nd grow and limited space. Rightttt???

The main reason i built the screens like that is i needed to remove the plants to water. They sat on the floor and no way to drain excess water.

In my opinion 2 by 2 is plenty for a personal smoke grow. Atleast its enough for me.

ohhhh dude I see now.

NOW this makes perfect sense lol.

So.. when you went to water your ladies, you could just pull the whole bucket/container that had the SCROG screen attached and then put it back in without ever having to rearrange anything.

Cool, got it.

Do you know if they sell containers with scrog screens attached like you have created anywhere? This would be very helpful.

Also, since I can't PM you.. do you happen to have skype or any other way I could contact you?! I would really like to chat with you about some techniques if you are down :)

Yeah the screens make it so easy to grow multiple strains that have different harvest times also. I actually had 6 screens 2 would be vegging while 4 where in the flower cabinet. Then every 35 or so days id harvest 2 screens and put two full screens into flower.

I have never seen them premade. It is pretty easy tho. I just used a hand saw to cut some 1 by and used screws to hold it together. I first started off with chicken wire as the screen but got the plastic screen out of a trash can. it was a closet organizer. Then just bolt side supports onto the side of the bucker. I would add the plant and then screw the top of the screen onto the support.

I dont have another way to communicate ill look into skype tho. do you need 50 posts to pm? I tried and couldnt do it either.

I guess building your own little screen buckets are the way to go. I am really digging that idea. That way they are portable and self-contained. Awesome idea again bro!

Anyways, yes. You do need 50 posts to PM, which is a bit over the top.. but hey what are you gonna do.

Get Skype.. its free and legit as fuck. It would be cool to converse with you and nerd out about our grow strategies/setups :)
