More pics....drying and curing will further age the trichomes. Why would you wait so long when thc degrades when trichomes are amber?

Those are trichs on the sugar leaves, you’ll do better using the trichs on the calyxes as a guide. But, as you say, to each his own

I did. I did not go by sugar leaves. I went straight to calyxes. The pics you see are from calyxes. Not sugar leaves..

You can tell it's calyxes by how close the hairs are. If you measuring sugar leaves hairs ain't gonna be prominent in the pic.

Congrats on another successful grow!
I also document not only my successes but failures as well!

Do you have a link to your grows on grow weed easy that you documented? Would like to check it out!

As far as trichomes goes, it's whatever your preference is but I think they could of benefited from going a little longer. I understand having 5% amber but what percent clear was there?
Pistils is still something that needs paid attention to because the amount, shape, size, and color will tell you quite a bit.

There's 3 types of glandular trichomes, there's also non-glandular but we will just talk about the glandular types.

Bulbous Trichomes - They're invisible to the naked eye and mushroom shaped, found on the surface of the plant.
Produce little to no cannabinoids.

Capitate Sessile Trichomes - need microscope to see. They're found on leaves, stems and bracts. Globular shaped and attached directly to epidermis. Produce minimal cannabinoids.

Capitate Stalked Trichomes - Taller then the other 2 types. Tiny antennas with globe heads. These are the trichomes you use to tell when to harvest.

Trichomes can be tricky, make sure you're looking at the correct trichome type and don't judge based off any on any leaf, they tend to change color/mature faster then the bud trichomes (Capitate Stalked).

If the plant gives you the effects you want, that's all that matters.

I will say you shouldn't just dismiss someone's advice so quickly. We all learn something when we try something new, maybe at some point let a grow or even 1 plant go a little longer. You might be surprised.
Still boils down to personally preference.

I checked thichomes with microscope. It was 1/3 each transparent, cloudy, amber. That is MY preferred harvest time. To each his own....
