High THCV strains and breeding them

Now that a few THCV strain are floating around for sale, I suspect they will be much cheaper in the near future as growers begin to make their own and pass them around

I'm interested in both, I have medical issues that makes thcv very interesting and I want to maximize it's potential by hybridizing it.

It's funny you bring that up...really funny, as I probably have 3 pounds of cannabis sitting around from all of my seed making/breeding projects as my focus has obvious been more on making more beans..

Much of the time, I pollenate a few branches and allow the rest of the bud to develop properly...

I should probably make some gummies at some point as I'm never gonna get through what I have..

And yes..I've turned into a total seed nerd..probably have 130 strains or so..unfortunately many having just 4-5 bean thus not able to trade..

Man..I'm getting to be like ' 'Golem' in Lord of the Rings with my precious beans...

This is me this time next year lol. Already own a Levo 2 for edibles making! Not necessary but very convenient.

My best luck has been with infusing grapeseed oil and using sunflower lecithin in the recipe.

But yes, pollinating just a couple branches? Yeah!

@TripsRabbit is confirmed, no way to get Novarine from The Vault without bitcoin or bank schidt. It would be worth it to jump thru the hoops if I had a 3rd party report that this is legit.

I told my wife last night we ought to start a consumer reports for weed. There is just soo much snake oil out there.

Hey, @Moe.Red . In your TLC endeavors, what relative levels of THCVA do you see? I'm getting frustrated with breeders posting levels of THC, THCA, and THCV, without taking into account that they're obviously using undecarbed bud so most of the THCV is left unmeasured in the acidic form. What kind of relative ratio are you seeing between THCV and THCVA, assuming you've identified the correct bands, or do you decarb first?

You cannot determine the relative qty of each acid using tlc. All acids are together in one dot. You need a mass spectrometer for that measurement which is what they use in commercial labs.

i Decarb everything before tlc for the most usable result.

I think I may have been incorrect in a previous post talking about this issue but I can’t find it at the moment. It is possible to count both acid and active cannabinoids in a sample with the proper instrument.

I'd throw in $50 as well, expecially if you're willing to do the grow and seed production. I'm limited to only 4 plants in my state so those spots are taken by production plants and clones. Anyone else?

Shouldnt be too hard, reverse a female and pollinize other female with that pollen.
Yes Elite Seeds has been around for years and they have a solid reputation.
I read a interview with them in one of the cannabis magazines, they have their own lab at the University of Valencia.
And Alchimia same, one of the bigger companies here, very well known.

I have a few high thcv varietals. I worked heavily at inducing environmental reactions. The most luck was with aphid introduction. If I added aphids during veg they would trigger a higher production of thcv.
If I took a clone of a mom that was high in thcv and had some aphid pressures applied before pollination then hit them a week to 10 days later with pollen, the bulk of the progeny would be higher in thcv. You can grow them out (progeny) in really poor conditions and if aphids are around they will just stick to them in flower and die. They will come hunting some of the sweeter ones out but they don't really bother them.
Anyways, yeah fun stuff.

I bought stuff known to be high in thcv then tested.We spent 4 years doing different things inside and outside with bugs. I'm looking at some pcr stuff for down the line,but only if they push it through and throw a simple tax point on it.
