HLG 100 or SF1000 or something more expensive?

Hello Cool forum.
Looking to buy a light to grow one or two plants. Considering the hlg 100 or sf 1000. Are those any good? is it better to buy amore expensive light that consumes more watts? if so why?
are the 100watt entry level lights good or are they a wastte of time?

The sf 1000 is better . Why i say that the par map . It has stronger par through a 2 foot area .
To spend more on a led light for a 2/2 area zero reason .
You can look at vipar spectra they make ok lights

Double the area of coverage No the same coverage 4 foot by 2 foot . Real world its about 3 foot by 1.5 foot . The lights you posted real world area 1.5 X 1.5 for best coverage

I completely agree. IMHO the viparspectra xs1500 pro is king of the 2x2 coverage and ppfd per dollar

I wouldn't try to grow two plants under 100w unless you are experienced and even then it wouldn't seem worth it. If you can afford to spend more on the light, do it. It is the single most important part of everything.

A good wattage estimate is 120 watts per plant. (That's 30 watts per square foot, with four square feet per plant.) For two plants, it would be 240 watts.

Do you plan to grow in a tent? If so, a 2x4 tent with a 240-watt light would be an excellent choice for two plants, and possibly more.

So, for example, I have a 240-watt ViparSpectra XS2000 in a 2x4 tent and it works well for two plants.

I accidentally stepped on an hlg which was sitting didoes down on a hard tile floor.
I tripped out like crazy but the light was completely fine, scary way to find out how solid their lights are

I have both in a 2x4 tent. (Sf1000, hlg100 rspec)
I wanted to beleive that the plants under the hlg 100 were bigger, greener etc...
Ppl told me repeatedly sf were trash.
But all the plants look similar, are growing similar.

The hlg are independent lab certified specs

I got my hlg(s) a lot cheaper during a sitewide sale and a coupon.
about .65 cents a watt.
100 watt = $65
600 watt = $390

Boards ballasts all built in china put together here in the states TN

The rspec has "manufactured by Samsung" "designed by hlg" or the likes on it.

HLG is hard to beat on customer service as well as design and components used. Have had 135w Board for 4 years, no troubles at all. That all adds up to more bang for your Buck.
ViparSpectra has a great looking 1000 water. Check out MIGRO on YouTube for videos.
