That’s how I do my garden. Started with cardboard over grass double layered then 10 cubic yards of compost on top, at least 3 inches of new compost on each row. Each succeeding year i layer leaves from the year before (2 huge compost piles out back I save them all) then in the spring I put in the leaves and compost as soon as it’s availabe in bulk (local company does organic dark leaf compost nothing else in it) it’s a bit more expensive but you don’t have to add any ferts all season, I just hit the garden with an hour of water every morning. It may be bro science to some and you may bring in a straggler or three in terms of pests but if you are an organic grower, you should look into using leaves and whether it helps you achieve a cheaper and better method than without. Leaves are easy to come by. Pile em up and spread manure/dirt over top. Plant a few months later.

If it worked for every veggie in that garden (at least 30 varieties lol) I bet it would do awesome on my outdoor plants next year
Awesome way to grow organically, not to mention the cardboard the first year kills all the weeds (at least 90%) so weeding was about 10 minutes every few days in a 65x40 garden
I love your garden, did you grow your plants from seed or buy them? That’s how I do my garden. Thank you! Already have some veggies running in a spare tentLove your garden! I can't wait to start mine in the next few months!
Thank you as well! They where bought seedlings I believe we bought about 200 in total, it was a full garden lol, well about 50% anything like lettuce, radishes, spinach etc all from seed, 40 days from seed to harvest for pretty much all of that, my wife and I and both the kids spend pretty much the whole summer in there, the kids just walk around and pull weeds out etc, this year I think I’m plopping a nice autoflower in the back corner, maybe 2-3 and I say autos in the yard because I have a massive flood light I keep on pretty deep into the night and it lights up that whole garden all the way in the back lolI love your garden, did you grow your plants from seed or buy them?
If it is an oak and not a walnut, you should be fine. I actually just cut down one of my prized butternut trees last night so I could slice it up today on the sawmill. I believe that only black walnut and white walnut (butternut) produce juglone. Anyhow black oak should be fine in terms of juglone. Black walnut leaves are probably not the best for building soil and it can take years to get rid of the chemical from what I gather although I grow corn and grapes near one of mine and haven't really seen anything noticeable.I’ve thought about that, but I have a lot of black oak trees surrounding my property, so I can’t do anything like that as the juglone would likely kill my plants.
Mmm grapes, have been contemplating putting in a 80’ section of vines down the one side of my yard, the area I’m in is prized for grapes especially but tons of fruit, so much so that we have a town restriction against growing certain types of fruit due to the 30-40 vineyards and even more orchards that surround my home lol, my wife’s been dying to go on one of the wine tours since we’ve moved here, gunna do it this year lol, also one of the reasons I wanna grow in the ground at least 2 autos this year and see how the ground does for cannabis
What type of grapes are you growing? I was having a hard time deciding what type of grapes to grow, we want to both eat the grapes and then make wine, just got my burpee brochure book in the mail I’ll have to read up lol.
I also put in a bunch of trees last year, just barefoot 3 foot whips but we went with
2x dwarf Havana peach trees
2x Havana peach
2x honeycrisp apple
2x nectarine
and 2 *cocktail fruit* trees, supposedly grows 6 different types of fruit on the same tree at the same timehad to try it haha
Garden is awesome but I can’t help but knotice the wood fence! Nice looking - did you do it? If not someone did a great job ! Sure wish I could find help that did that quality of work. Lol we had it installed when I bought the house, it was $18,000 I have almost 3/4 of an acre fenced in. I could have done it I did general construction for 15 years and my father owned a company for 45 years so I completely grew up around … every aspect of construction lol but would have took much longer, these guys did it in 2 days, first day drill posts and set, 2nd day build the fence, and not pre add panels that fence is hand built piece by piece I wish I had the time lapse cameras then, they had 14 guys, and tons of equipment I got 2k off because the owner is my brother in laws best friend plus he got it up a week after I called him… in November , (was a mild winter we had a week of near 60 so he slammed it in) we had 90MPh wind during that blizzard that fence didn’t even flex I was amazed hahaGarden is awesome but I can’t help but knotice the wood fence! mixing the urine and droppings about 1 gallon to 3 gallons of water. Probably on the strong end so I'll cut that a bit more until the plant gets a bit biggerI supplement our bunny with cannabis leaves all the time. She loves them. Been collecting her pellets just for this reason. What kind of ratios are you using? any other fertilizers?
I just gotta say it......Your soil looks like shit!....lol Do you use that in an indoor grow?.......Is there no scent attached that will give your grow a barn yard smell?.....Finished filling the bags with soil/rabbit dropping mix. You can see in one of the photos, how much salt is still in rabbit manure even being supposedly a cold manure. Bottled the urine and used the spike to create channel and gave a heavy dose of 3 to 1 water/urine. Probably would have normally went easier on it but for the sake of experimentation... I should know by the morning how the like it but no immediate issues.
I lost one plant so I'm down to four for this grow but it's okay since I'm in the small room. Going to top of the rest of the bags with sand in a few weeks and bypass gypsum for this run out of curiosity whether it will be needed.
The four in here now are.
