Hot compost

Hi all....I'm soon to start a new grow with autos & the only compost I have available is verve multipurpose compost from B&Q.
I believe that the compost will be too hot ie too rich in nutrients for seedling so how can I tone it down a little.
I also have perlite to mix in at around 25-30% ratio

How did you get on with it? I'm in the same boat at the moment. Using 50% nutes and everything is going fine. Any tips or pointers?
