I have a thermometer stuck in the dirt on 1 of my plants and it stays at about 90 deg. even when 110 out side.....never varys much

Bet it varies whether its in the middle of the pot or near the outside edge

I use 20 gal fabric pots.....It is stuck (thermometer) about 1/3 of the way in and about 5" deep. It is 90 deg outside right now and pot temp is 80.......sun is almost down so no direct sun on it.
