Good morning farmers. I have these strawberry kush that I have been growing in upstate NY. the weather here is getting kinda shitty with colder temps and rain. I am getting worried about these girls as this is my best year so far! I am thinking they will be ready mid October but don't think they will make it to them with this weather. can anyone tell me if they are to early to harvest or should I wait it out and see what happens. Any tips ,Tricks, or advice will be wonderful as I am only a 3rd year grower

Hey Cook.....another CNYer......awesome!! There are a few of us up in here.....

Plants look great!! I'm about 15 mins to lake Ontario.....right now, we have a clear 3 or 4 day outlook.....then some rain....

My plants look a touch behind yours and I'm pulling mine before it rains again.....

I've lost too much the past couple years and I'll be damned if I loss it again!!

I'd say at least 3wks. You guys in the NE have it rough getting to the perfect finish line. If the trichs look all milky at least that's a good time to harvest. Your's look too young yet, sorry man.

Gorgeous ladies you have there! Vermonter here, and yes, the season is a battle. I agree that a few more weeks is evident. If you have micro netting to cover them especially at night is ideal. Just helps to keep the night crawlers/fliers off the nuggets! Have a great harvest!!

Connecticut here. I’ve got an illuminated jewelers loup that I look through every day, waiting for the trichomes to show me the way. Not there yet. Last year it was the second week of October before I chopped em down. Hoping that will do it. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the advice guys! We have had rain steady on and off the last three days looking to lighten up a little so hopefully the rain don’t lead to bud rot. I was thinking about another 3 weeks. Should I hit them with another feeding of plant fish food 5-1-1? Or just let them be ? I’ve put so much time and energy in these girls this year I am trying to take every precaution I can

2-4 weeks i recommend getting a jewelers loupe to check the trichomes. They are pretty affordable.

They look nice rn. If you gotta chop due to weather conditions, then I’d say go for it. It’s close enough to ready that it won’t be chlorophyll flavored hay when dried. And better to have early bud than moldy bud

I’m assuming your season is pretty similar to mine. If so, the 8 weekers (with normal trigger times) get pulled on October 20th and the 10/11 weekers go into early November (or at least as close to Halloween as you can get them). Early triggering strains (the ones that go into pre flower at the end of June) should be done by now.

If conditions stayed fair… I’d say let it go longer (so it can chunk up more and get color). But outdoors you gotta find that median and compromise quality for yield sometimes. Indoor pays the bills, outdoor buys the house
