I was curious how far I can keep my lights apart from each other. I am running 4 600's with 2 400 cfm fans. Obviously 1 per 2 lights. My temps do not get higher any higher then 77 degrees. Currently they are about 6 inches apart on the sides and 18 inches on the ends. I was under the impression that I was in good shape. Was thinking of pumping 2 of my digital ballasts up to 750watts, but obviously that would create more heat and potential light burn. Any general rule of thumb for distances between lights?

I meant how far should each air cooled reflector be in distance from each other. Running 600 watt bulbs.

What does that have to do with light burn (ie the topic of this thread)

Each 600 covers a 3x3 canopy, possibly can handle a 4x4

Generally rule is 18 inches away from top of the plants is safe. No matter how close they are to each other.

So if a lamp covers 3x3, I place the lights 2-2.5 ft from each other so you have a little double coverage on the edges. iTunes has several good light meters for 99-1.99. I'm sure there's similar for android. It's help to adjust lights for equal coverage
