My very first harvest is drying now. I was just playing with a nug and got a sneak preview.

It's not dry yet. Still has the haaaaaaaaaaay smell. I'm dying to smoke it but it's still probably has daaaaaaaaays left to dry. I'm tempted to get a scale just to be sure of what I pull.

Better now that it stopped raining, praying i don't get bud rot. Took one plant down a few weeks early cause it had been getting stem rot in multiple places. Other than that it's going good. This year is my second grow and my plants are more than double the size of last year. So I'm pretty happy. I could fit 4 of my plants in a 4x6 tent last year. Now not even two fit in it.

Are you drying in a room with a dehumidifier? Investing in a good dehumidifier was a key element in drying weed properly for me. I have a dehumidifier, air conditioner, heater, humidifier, and a lot of fans. I try to keep the environment perfect at each stage it needs to be at. It’s pretty right on usually.

Beauty. I am impatient and smoke mine as soon as it’s dried lol. It does get a lot better with curing, but I have yet to meet a grower who doesn’t try their dried uncured bud lol.

No I’m not. It’s very hot and dry where I’m at. I might put a humidifier in there but I’m trying to avoid it. I work nights so I’m trying not to leave a bunch of shit for my wife to turn on and off

I have everything on timers. What isn’t on a timer is on my AC Infinity system and I control it with my phone anywhere I go. I do grow in this room in the winter. Outdoors in summer indoors in winter and I haven’t paid for bud in many years lol

Not well, these plants so fucking small. Little bitty ass Orians I should not have only grew Orians this time. They just to small and I'm not going to get enough to last until next harvest.

I'm taking my time with the Blueberry Muffins. I've had catipillar damage on them so i have to do time consuming digging and cutting out bud rot from the damage. Plus these had odd branching not normal colas. Our temps here have been OK no rain in near future but really cool overnight with a dew layer. Perfect for moldy bud rotted plants to go bad quickly and effect the good branches. I've removed all top colas now it's just the mid and lower left to ripen more. Last 3pics are of a WW x PK cross that has not been infected with cats. She's heavy solid bud structure really pleased with her, i'll grow her again outdoors next summer. Maybe it's just luck she wasn't attacked? But she can also be a mold prospect because of bud being so dense so fingers crossed

Automatic timers are the key to self management of electronic items. Work smarter and keep the wife out of the mix. You’ll both be happier.

I battled caterpillars as well, first time. Sucks big time. I'll sit out on drying question. Hope you have a good magnifier for checking your trichomes on your buds. I got a cheap jewelers loupe off Amazon. Good luck!!

I do have a loupe but I haven’t had much practice. cut this one based on pistols, seems like it was good timing.

Beautiful plants nice bud structure. I wonder why not plant right in the soil? I see you said you can’t do the big big girls anymore, I get it, I’m getting up there too and things aren’t what they were ha ha. But why not plant right in the ground? How did your final harvest turn out? I haven’t started my winter indoor grow yet because we’re getting our electrical updated and getting solar so we’ll have no power for 6-8 hours and I don’t want to do that to very young plants. I’m starting them probably in about 2 weeks. Do you do indoor at all?

Nice frosting on those. It seems counterintuitive but less plants in a small space will yield more than more plants in a small space. I tried to plant a little too close this summer and ended up having two out of 12 plants getting shaded out by the big big girls and not producing as much. I can’t wait to start my winter indoor crop.

Well i just feel slightly more in control of the plant in containers for weather issues. I can move them under cover. My final harvest went fine lost alot to catipiller rot but what wasn't lost is curing now in jars. I got plenty enough to last me till my indoor 3 finish they are nearly showing flower have been at 12/12 for over 10days. Solar huh, there's a few homes around i've seen solar panels on roofs. I'm not interested in researching that nor the cost. Yeah yeah the govt. gonna buy them for me. I'd put a woodstove in before i'd do solar but im in Oregon not AZ or Florida.

We’re in New England, but we have sun the entire day on our roof. We have no shade at all. My husband was the one who really wanted it. Our indoor grows cost ridiculous amounts of money in electricity because of humidifiers and heaters and AC and dehumidifiers. Lights are LED and not too bad, but the environmental machines kill us. Our house is ideal for solar. We heat with a pellet stove and a wood stove but this is going to save us on electric a lot. I understand why you want them in pots now. Too bad about the caterpillars. Do you know what kind they are? We have gypsy moth caterpillars all over the place right now but they don’t bother the plants. The Japanese beetles were bad this year but they also didn’t bother my girls. I’m holding off on my indoor grow for a few weeks while they put in our solar since they have to turn off our electricity for awhile a couple days in a row. I can’t wait to start, my grow room is freshly cleaned and ready. What strains are you doing indoors? I’m going to be doing a bunch of Hawaiian strains from Sticky Fingers seeds.
