Or through the wall shouldn't be too hard on a trailer. I don't know if that trailer has very good insulation sometimes they don't even in the floors.
I would try to get my ballasts out of there sounds like you need all the help you can get.right now it goes side room I suck air from it goes duct fan duct light duct light duct out side
then I have fan with scrubbers in the same room cleaning the stank out so the air getting pulled over the lights and out my house comes from a hole another room
If you were able to recirculate the air in the room instead of disbursing it outside it might be better but you probably can't do that. I think if you want to exhaust your vent to the outside you're going to need another AC unit in that room.kind of a old pic
How much air do you bring in and ventilate to the outside just out of curiosity. I don't think it takes very much at all does it?Here's my trailer. Right now 104 outside. Inside freezing lol. You need some shade. You could put up 4 long poles and hook up some shade cloth for a cheap shade. Double up the cloth for some real good shade.
If you're exhausting your air to the outside instead of recirculating it I don't think a 5000k AC unit could keep up with that.about to ebay all the gear lol I just don't understand my room is 100f right now... its 9x9x8 with 2 inline fans one cleaning the air and one pulling air over the bulbs and out of the room took that off the see if that was the problem it was not it just got hotter .. I also have 4 box fan and a damn 5k AC and its still that hot
its blowing my mind that a ac 5k.2 inline they pull 450.4 box fans cant keep the room cool right now the room is only 3f cooler then out doors
im using 2 600wat cool hoods and one 315 lec balist both in another room suckers get hottttt
It would be like driving your car with the AC on and your windows cracked down.about to ebay all the gear lol I just don't understand my room is 100f right now... its 9x9x8 with 2 inline fans one cleaning the air and one pulling air over the bulbs and out of the room took that off the see if that was the problem it was not it just got hotter .. That's the kind of thinking I like!I'm not growing in there. (but I have thought about it lol). I just use the unit that came with it on top. I can't remember how many btu's it puts out but it works great. I think the shade helps a lot. My idea was primitive, but I'm pretty sure it would help out a lot. Keep that direct sunlight off the trailer!
You might be better off just to vent your lights straight up with no fan and let the heat rise out on its own while you circulate the same air in the room.about to ebay all the gear lol I just don't understand my room is 100f right now... its 9x9x8 with 2 inline fans one cleaning the air and one pulling air over the bulbs and out of the room took that off the see if that was the problem it was not it just got hotter .. She doesn't want to do that ;)Also, I bet you 2oz, if you put a fan in the exhaust ducting, your temps will drip drastically as well. New proper box, r6 insulated 6" ducting, and a fan should bring ambient temps under 85*
Try try turning off your exhaust fans and recirculating the air in the room see if that brings your temps down.about to ebay all the gear lol I just don't understand my room is 100f right now... its 9x9x8 with 2 inline fans one cleaning the air and one pulling air over the bulbs and out of the room took that off the see if that was the problem it was not it just got hotter .. That is exactly right. You must put a booster fan on that ducting coming off of the AC condenser. It will not flow out enough on its own through a duct. Not only can it be dangerous because the unit could overheat but it will make your unit not cool very well at all. It is also best to plug the unit directly in the wall with the cord it comes with. If you have to use an extension cord you must use a big thick one otherwise it will not cool efficiently and once again can overheat and damage your unit.I've only mentioned it 3 or 4x.
Reason you MUST/NEED/absolutely with out a doubt need a fan is for this reason.
A portable a.c. system uses a fan to expel the exhaust out of what 6' max oem hose. A window unit doesn't really have a fan that expels the hot exhaust air out since its ment to be outside not the way we have it set up. A window unit uses a radiator and fan of sorts luke in a vehicle. Except an ac pushes air thru the condenser and out of the unit, vs a car sucking air in over the radiator. So, the window unit needs help exhausting the air since your choking off the open/free exhaust air it's supposed to have.
I'm starting over from.scratch now. New 8" r6 ducting, 8" 720cfm fan, and new huge box. Or I may say F it!, and hust leave my portable setup as is and go thru gas a bit quicker. Been rocking it out last 5 yrs like this.
Just trying to help, since I've been where you are. Bandaids don't work, overkill it and never worry about it again. Same reason I've never had any duct work fall. I use hvac tape and worm clamps.
With that kind of unit you really should cut a hole and hang it outside. I'm not saying that it won't work the way you have it set up but you are drawing or you should be drawing air through those vents on the side of the unit and then it blows through the condenser coil on the back. So what it is doing is drawing all the air from your room that you are trying to cool.I've only mentioned it 3 or 4x.

Edit
All you'll need is a 4" HO fan. At least 250cfm. Plug that into a 3 way (that can handle the amp/watts) with the ac and it will only cone on with the ac.
If you were local, I'd rebuild it for you In 1hr or less. Just medicate me as my back should be hurting afterwards. Lol
Mine will be a 2 day x 8hrs to finish.
That is what makes a portable unit so inefficient it is trying to draw the cool air from the same area that it is trying to cool and then it blows it outside. The only way those work is is you have to separate rooms and keep your portable unit outside of the room you're trying to coolI've only mentioned it 3 or 4x.
