I think if she is able to cut a hole and hang that thing out it will be so much more better. Window units are the bomb. Recirculate the air in the room and only let enough fresh air in and out for the plants which isn't very much that they need.

The wi dow units draw all intake/cooling air thru the front of the unit which is in the room. The back 3/4 of the unit with the vent openings on the top and sides are where the condenser fan draws in the air to push it thru as the exhaust. So only the air where the back of the ac is effected.

How so, that's exactly how you would have it if installed in a house in a window setting. Minus the exhaust box and other stuff.

Losing a lot of flow for cooling with those 90s. Makes the unit work harder.

Agreed the whole back of the unit either needs to be hanging out the other side of the wall or completely isolated from the room you are trying to cool otherwise it will just be sucking in the cool air it is spitting out.

Try try turning off your exhaust fans and recirculating the air in the room see if that brings your temps down.

I'm sorry but you're probably going to have to redesign that. Are you against cutting a hole in hanging the back half of that AC unit out the wall? If so you're going to have to redesign the way you have it set up.

I've only mentioned it 3 or 4x.

Reason you MUST/NEED/absolutely with out a doubt need a fan is for this reason.

A portable a.c. system uses a fan to expel the exhaust out of what 6' max oem hose. A window unit doesn't really have a fan that expels the hot exhaust air out since its ment to be outside not the way we have it set up. A window unit uses a radiator and fan of sorts luke in a vehicle. Except an ac pushes air thru the condenser and out of the unit, vs a car sucking air in over the radiator. So, the window unit needs help exhausting the air since your choking off the open/free exhaust air it's supposed to have.

I'm starting over from.scratch now. New 8" r6 ducting, 8" 720cfm fan, and new huge box. Or I may say F it!, and hust leave my portable setup as is and go thru gas a bit quicker. Been rocking it out last 5 yrs like this.

Just trying to help, since I've been where you are. Bandaids don't work, overkill it and never worry about it again. Same reason I've never had any duct work fall. I use hvac tape and worm clamps.

every one keeps telling me to do this and it will fix it and yet nothing as first I was told I need one ex fan then 2 then some box fans then people say o u get a 5k ac and that will do it so far every one keeps saying though all my money at it and maybe something I buy will help

Edit
All you'll need is a 4" HO fan. At least 250cfm. Plug that into a 3 way (that can handle the amp/watts) with the ac and it will only cone on with the ac.

If you were local, I'd rebuild it for you In 1hr or less. Just medicate me as my back should be hurting afterwards. Lol
Mine will be a 2 day x 8hrs to finish.

a lil info i got the ac to cool down my flower room that was all ways in the 90s it is the room next to it so the ac blows damn near right in to it

the air that is pulling over the bulbs comes from a hole another room that is shut off to the grow room just a door

I understand completely. The thing about your air conditioning unit is in order for it to really pump out cold air the back part of it has to be ventilated big time. It has the vents on the sides and the back part has a condenser with a fan behind it. It draws that air through those vents on the back and pushes it out the radiator part exhausting tons of hot air out the back. I'm trying to understand exactly how your setup works so I can help you. So do you have a room with another room inside of it?
