Takes bout 14 days before i transplant them. No need to overcomplicate it. Take a cutting as long as your hand palm to fingertip. Take off any lower leaf or side branches so you can stick the stem into substrate or soil. Keep the humidity high, light levels low, right temperature and don't touch or move them for 2 weeks. Keep the medium moist but not saturated. On day 12 or so I start opening the vents a litte. day 13 wide open vents to start acclimating them to dryer air. Transplant. Stiffer coco coir plugs work great, but you can use whatever you got. Some plants clone easy. Others don't. Depends on the genetics.

About 2 weeks before they visibly grow again.

Good airy substrate with little to no nutes, good rh, good temp and lots of patience (: Besides the standard trimming of leaf tips i like to skin very small strips of the outer stem for roots to grow from. Then leave them in a cup of water that's in a plastic bag somewhere in the shade. After a few days I put them in substrate.

Never really had issues with clones rooting. It's mostly after transplanting.

Trimming the leaf tips is a myth that you shouldn't immitate. There is a scientific study that proved that cutting the leaf tips reduces the success rate of clones from cuttings. Don't just immitate. Seek to understand. There is a reason my clones have intact leaves and why I use a humidity dome.

transplanted. 100% success rate.

Im working with a variety right now that just doesn't clone well. Success rate sometimes depends on genetics. Plant health can also be a factor. If you want a certain number of clones, double it, and dispose of whats not needed.

Cutting leaf tips makes a significant drop in rooting success rate in the cannabis cuttings. I know why, but I'm going to wait and see if anyone knows something about plant biology first.

Actually yes. It begins with learning whats already known. Plant biology, physiology, the chemistry involved, evidence based information. We can use the above example to identify people mindlessly imitating others (clipping leaf tips) and rule them out as a source of good information. Being able to distinguish good information from myths and bruh-science will help you be more successful.

Just give a tip if you got em and slow down the superiority complex. As I recall you had to ask for help on some very basic things as well not that long ago.

I'm not here to fight. My process and results are all posted on here if you feel like looking through it. Your clones looks good, hope they turn out great and you share the process and results as well.

That can work, you can speed that up by putting an air stone in the water and run an air pump like for fish aquariums. Can be intermittent, doesnt have to run 24/7

Sometimes I ask questions just to see what the answers are like. Like polling the community. It doesn't necessarily mean I don't know the answer. Those clones were smoked. I did share the process on page 1 of this thread. You can read it.. its still there. I am giving tips. The most important being: Understand, don't just mindlessly immitate. Give priority to knowledge over following.

Good point, if you're going to be cutting the tips off your clone leaves you ought to at least know why other than because thats what someone said to do. I'm not going to spoil what you're digging for, but I will tell you I cut my clone tips and I do it because it's the lesser of two evils. (That's a clue) I certainly understand and respect a Canadian's point of view on this. (Another clue).

Root Riot plugs work pretty good. Just set it and forget it in a humidity dome. Played with the Clone King once but got to cumbersome for me ..lol, water everywhere..

To complete your whole line of thought, do you want to talk about how and when that move of doming can penalize you, and why you just might want to cut your tips after all?

I've heard the bruh science reasoning on this already, which doesn't take into account relative humidity under the lid. Im willing to read a credible opposing study or scholarly article in favor of cutting the leaf tips. Just drop a link. Im ready. Lets have it. Staying up to date on facts is wise.

That's kinda boring... I mean Google is available to you and even that isn't all that conclusive. Bro science works because it's backed up by working results with positive end results. Just because it doesn't have a white paper behind it shouldn't be cast aside as bad advice, get over yourself man.

Be careful not to rely on any singular white paper as sound science. White papers are often used for internet trolling. Especially on scientific topics.

Now I'm interested in reading it to see how it tracks to my own observations. Plants will look nice and green under that dome for sure, but you'll get roots a lot quicker if you undome them by day 3 and let them scavenge a fan or two for mobile nutrients. Undoming them is potentially going to pull a lot of water quickly from the leaves with the vpd. This is where the cut ends come into play.

Probably the most overlooked strategy for successful cloning... Make sure you properly feed the mother plant 7-10 days before you take your cuts so it's got the nutrient load and hormones it needs for good root initiation.

I'm old LOL and i don't change what works for me. I love to clone it's easy once you get the hang of it. And i do clip tips off just a couple off each cut i take. Scrape the outside skin, plop it into some clone gel and stick it into some light fluffy seedling soil and put a dome on them. Takes me 2wks to see new growth coming from the tops. Just need to practice and find what works for you. I take them from my big plants prior to setting them at 12/12 take them from those branches that you'll need to trim away anyway tops, middles, lowers i've cloned them all.
