growing about to start growing just with cobs because I used to be a overclocker pic freak so I got a lot of heat sinks and water cooling it's just how many cobs do I need for a small 5x5ft tent I am growing the big nasty #5 and I got 32.49% thc tested at 2 labs other was 33.14% using single hips in coco pure coco in root pots

I want to grow like 25 plants on the tray in 2 gallon coco like i so for many many years now unless I do a 50 1 gal sog but I really want to set up what I need to over the 4x4 fully equal to 1000w hps at least What do I need to run it 12 cobs? And if so what a page and ect I'm a total noob at LEDs but not electrical in computers or viide0ngamw systems I can solder seems easy enough I just want to know how many cops do I need I also want to know what are the good drivers and what kids of cobs are best I heard running at 700 not 1400 is going to grow more bud but is it true at 700 you can run many 8 cobs instead of 4 running at 1400 of power so isn't more power put in each cob won't it yield more and create bigger plants? What are a list of the best ones cob and drivers and heat sinks and company's even though I can easily polish my own heat sinks and isn't it possible to duct cool your entire grow if you built a heatsink and built a duct for it to I saw a new led called like air cooled led grow lights something seemed cool but I really want to build a good led grow light array of cobs the Samsung led 3590 seems like it's good but I'm a noobie I'm hoping to run atleast 9 cobs but if I just need 4 or 6 that's cool too please I need all your import and 2 cent and any input or opinion is really appreciated

Wow that was tough to read lol.
15 x cree 3590 run @1050ma would be great over a 4 x 4.you can use meanwell 185-1050 drivers x 3 to run 5 cobs per driver.sure you can also do 16 x cobs run off the 185-1400ma for more power but you will need 4 x driver for that.
9 cobs in that space will not yield like a 1000w hps unless you use the 72v chips and run them around 75w which will take alot more drivers.
Predrilled heat sinks and cob holders here
Northerngrowlights.com
He also has some other cobs that might interest you from vero and citizen

I would go with 16 -CXB3590, 36v, 3500K and 4- HLG-185H-1400B drivers. you can always dim your drivers down. That will give you 50W per SF and great PPFD. Each driver is 200w so four drivers is 800w comparable to a 1000w HPS. I would place drivers remotely and put your COB's on passive pin sinks with aluminum channels for frame. No fans needed except a circulation fan and exhaust fans. peace

so that's 15 cxb3590's @ 1050 for 600W
or 16 @ 1400 for 400W

How about 12 @ 1400 on 2 HLG320 for 600W
each driver runs 4 cxb3590, 36v at 200w. 1050B drives the COBs at 35W, 1400B drives them at 50W.

15 cxb @ 1050ma would be around 525w but you can use just 3 drivers in this setup.mw 185-1050
16 cxb @ 1400ma would be around 795w and would take 4 drivers using mw 185-1400
you last combo of 12 @ 1400ma gets you real close to 600w.but yeah there are alot of driver combos to get you there.those big hlg 320 are pricey.everyones got there own reasons for choosing drivers.i chose the 1050 ma because with 5 cxb's im using just about 100% of the drivers power and the eff% is up there around 60% maybe 64% i cant remember lol.
i think the 1400ma drivers put you around 56% maybe 54% still really good and more power.but i just wanted to build my shit to last forever,so i used 1050ma and also 140mm x 70mm heat sinks. i coulda used smaller sinks but again if every fan in my room took a shit my lights would still be fine.
