Starting my 2nd grow. I have 12x Monios-l T5 15 watts and 4x Monios-l T5 20 watts. I am reading all types of conflicting info and can't find a direct answer on what my best chances are for getting good results with these specific lights. I am germinating 2x LA Confidential seeds, 1x Maui Wowie, and 1x NYC Deiseal.
I am thinking once I put them in soil, put them about 2 or 3 inches from 2x 15 watt LED's and keep them like that for about 2 weeks. What is the consensus on this? Too much? Not enough? Too close/far? I don't want to invest in any more specialty lights if I can avoid it. Yup, I have cheap lights but they worked great for me on the first grow and didn't heat up my room too much.

Those would be great for seedlings and small plants... but I would keep it at least 6 to 12 inches above plant

So only 2x 15 watt LED's for the seedling? I got about 3 oz from 1 mother and 4 clones on my first run with 4x 20 watt and 6x 15 watt LED's. I decided to add 6 more 15 watters to accommodate for the Maui Wowie. I figure I am going to need to adjust the height since it's Sativa. I have a spare bedroom so space isn't an issue, but heat is. I'm in Arizona and with the AC at 78 all day the room was getting to 83 degrees with what I had. Very nice looking grow!

Yup for smaller plants it a decent light... I run a 5 dollar walmart grow light for my seedlings... not much light is needed the first few weeks...

I'm averaging about a half lb per plant with my phlizon fd6500...

another thing to think about rather than having a bunch of small grow sites... might be easier to manage just having 1 strong light over several smaller ones... I watch Mr. GROWIT on youtube... i think he is in arizona... but he talks alot about people growing in desert conditions...

For instance I picked this trick up... lower humidity settings like you have probably around 30% or lower.... when cutting your plant down... leave all your fan leaves and dry plant as a whole.... the leaves and whole stalk will help retain some of the moisture getting you that slower dry time that we desire.

I run 6-8 seedlings for a month under a single 2-foot 25 watt fluorescent T5. That's less light than one of your 20W LEDs. I'd hang one of your 20W lights 18 inches above the media, initially, and move the light up as the plants grow. You can use the plants as light meters. When the leaves are green, flat, and level, they're happy with the light intensity. When they pray all the time, they'd like more light. When they taco, canoe, twist, show edge curl, and are any color other than green, give them less light.

I actually have access to a 24 watt fluorescent, it may be the same one you have. My GF had one hanging around and the stand looks like the one you have in that picture. I figured it would be too little but apparently not. How many hours a day do you leave them under that light? 18? 20? Thanks for the advice!

I run 24 hours of light until I move the plants to the veg tent, usually about week 5 from seed. (I run perpetual, so the timing depends on when the veg tent frees up from the run ahead of the seedlings.) The fluorescent stays six inches above the tops.
