I’ll try to make this short.
Been married my to husband for about 6 years, we got married pretty fast after dating. Found out after or shortly before our wedding day the extent of his alcohol addiction. He hid it pretty well while we were dating.
He grew up in foster care since a young age and was physically an sexually abused. He struggled with alcoholism since his 20s so for about 20ish years he struggled with addiction. He is/was a real life Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. The change in him after he’s been drinking is freightning. I was either going to leave him or he had to quit drinking. When I was pregnant with my son, he got arrested on a felony domestic violence charge but I was able to talk the prosecutor down to a misdemeanor non-DV charge. He didn’t need prison, he needed help and I knew prison would just make things worse and I knew that’s not who he wanted to be. He didn’t want to be an alcoholic but he was so consumed by the addition that nothing could pull him away from its evil claws. In comes cannabis. I told him to try it. He dabbled in it a few times and he got a taste of what life could be like, what he could have, and it gave him the chance to become the person he always wanted to be. So where do I come in? I grow it for him. He needs a lot to keep his demons at bay and the street value would cost more than $2000 per month. We started out buying but quickly realized we needed a better solution and that solution was me growing it for him. We’ve been experimenting on he best strains for him, so far very high THC (the higher the better) has been the only effective medicine for him.
Waiting on that federal legalization....
I've definitely mellowed out a lot since my younger days lol. I can't even really listen to metal much anymore. But I can't live without music. I would probably give up herb before I would give up music. One thing through out my life that has helped me immensely is mixing herb with music. In my younger days I was what you would call a metal head. In those days speed metal was a very destructive source to mix with speedy drugs. Ultimately when I learned how to enjoy the Grateful Dead there was so much to discover learn and enjoy with the herb that I grow and smoke today.
I will. I want him to try edibles but so far what I’ve made had no effect on him (got me pretty high though). I might buy a decarbing machine. Maybe experiment by making a cannabis “flour” and making bread with it. Or cannabutter... he is not a big fan of sweets but could eat gummy bears. So I have a few options.Maybe check into making concentrates. Also taking a break every now and then certainly helps clean out your system and reset your tolerance.
This was actually me asking you if I can steal that quote for my grow room lol
If nothing else, I'm sure it helps you feel good;)I doubt any way weed has helped me is worth mentioning, for me it was an introduction to crime.
Thanks for the kind words, you can do what you wish with it :)
Tried to DM you but you have it disabled I think so I'll post it here lol.
I'll see how it fits in the room for a few days and if it settles well I'll do it nicer and throw a frame on it
Bro come on. Really. I’m honored. I’m gonna frame this photo and hang it into my grow area :D
Hahaha! Genuinely man it's pretty fitting for my life. Sports, and cars I obsessed over and when I got older sports started falling away and when money got tight so did cars. Growing may have helped me more than I give it credit for, even if it hasn't it's still some of the truest words I've heard for awhile!
I had zero friends and zero hobbies for years and only in the last 3 have I been turning it around really just from a new passion for life.
I'm glad you're honoured but the words are the right ones! Much love brother!
I know this is a little off topic. But I'm extremely curious to see if anyone is willing to share their stories of how cannabis has helped them overcome struggles.
For me I've never had a stable home or much guidance, so by the time I was 14 i was riding with friends doing a lot of messed up things. Around 20 i kinda broke and around 23 i became a complete recluse. I stopped speaking to all my friends, I was tired of doing bad everytime I walked out my home.
4 years ago I started taking sertaline which is a SSRI and for whatever reason i still hadn't thought of weed. Out of all people my Aunt came over with a preroll and my anxiety was so mild.
Been a smoker since. My life is starting to get better. I'm not angry constantly and I'm definitely not as lost. Oh and I dont take sertraline anymore. It did help. ALOT. But nothing compared to cannabis.
I know theres much more tragic stories out there then mine and if theres even a chance somebody would read something like this and find their way then I feel obligated to do it.
Hope this is an ok place to put this please share some stories if you guys are up to it :)
It has always been amusing stories that cannabis smoking "helps" people. Cannabis does not help people, only creates the illusion of this. For some reason you are not trying to find a better job, to improve your education, and no matter what your childhood and adolescence was, you are never too late to change for the better. Of course, it is easier to whine about it on the Internet and look for like-minded people so that it does not seem that only you are so bad, and feed your illusion about the "help" of marijuana. But you are not aware that Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient in cannabis, is addictive and increases the risk of mental health complications. That is, after a while, you will become much worse and using cannabis will increase depression, anxiety, hopelessness, suicidal thoughts, quick thoughts and impulsivity. These symptoms will worsen as the disease grows and for people with mental illness, the result may be more significant. Not to mention the damage to your body (like any foreign substance added to the body, marijuana can affect the health of the human brain, heart, gastrointestinal tract and lungs). I’m not trying to get into your head with this, it’s just enough to powder other people’s brains, which cannabis helps. And I recommend that you read, for example, this article: https://thcdetox.biz/blog/marijuana-health/, where, based on reliable data and sources, all the negative effects of marijuana on the human body are described. This is nothing more than a marketing ploy for cannabis sellers to make an illusion of help from it, this is a billion-dollar business and they are trying to be popularized with all available means, and people perceive it as a true flock as truth.
All good. Always think with your head, because the consequences are only for you, above all before yourself.
I got a buddy with crones disease if it wasn’t for marijuana he’d be drugged up with pharmaceuticals destroying his mind and body. You are as surely negative about our plant as much as most are overly hyped about it.
Harvard medical proved that cannabis does not actively effect mental illness and that every case of induced schizophrenia the patient had previous or long standing tendencies for mental illness before the weed.
And smoking anything obviously is not great for the body.
I will read your link when i have some more time but am quite educated in the facts here.
Cannabis infused edibles cured mrs. Mmg’s Lifelong PCOS in less than a year while we waited for an appointment with a specialist.
Her cysts were over 50% gone in 6 months. The doctor thought she had the wrong test reaults.
I was born with a sick colon and and congenital tears in my abdomen.
Cannabis is the only substance that stops the constant swelling and spasms.
Read more info please without confirmation bias.
Edit: read the link. the posted article is biased spam for the pharmaceutical industry. The links provided at the bottom prove nothing. Just like the proof devoid article.
It might as well be the old ignorant government short film @1diesel1 posted above.
