I have digital balests witch go from 200 to 600 .my quetion is do plants need more light at diferant stages like more light in veg or more light in flower or just steady all the way or start low then go high for flip and mid flower and back down again like i surpose a natural plant outdoors would do .

Start low at 200 in veg, then slowly adjust wattage up as you progress toward bloom and finish at highest W.

I think it is better to adjust the distance than the wattage. The spectrum suffers as bulbs are dimmed.

Much more with single ended bulbs.

Also mh vs hps, spectrum matter more then wattage depending on plant life cycle.

Redder light during flower.
