Hi Folks,
So what does it take to get her to produce all she can?

I’ve looked at these grow journals and -diaries.. at times shes a first class lady and then shes a skank.
Im sure everybody reads and tries so why only a few succeed?

Maybe its time for a thread to give hell to newbie fuckups...

One of the biggest problems I see happen, time and time again (and this is kinda glass house rock throwing because I mess things up regularly), newbies come here, ask advice because something isn‘t looking right, then proceed to argue with everyone that offers advice as to why their “new” process is better than anything anyone has ever thought of before.

To be fair a lot of new people get bombarded with suggestions and advice. Hard to tell who’s full of shit, who’s right or who’s guessing.

Not everyone takes the time to read a thread and might start posting old or wrong suggestions.

Sometimes someone just wants an answer to a question without all the additional advice.

Then there’s the just flat out crazy assed shit some post.

I’m noob. I’ll tell on myself lol.

I bought a “grow kit”. Included was a bag of Super Soil. Not understanding the differences in organic growing and using synthetic nutes….I dumped a bunch of synthetics on her and bunt it all to Hell

I flushed it in the bathtub and was able to harvest her.

watering habits are the number 1 issue..

but i gave it 30 gallons of plain water, why's it yellowing? It needs to be dry before I water, how are my plants burning? I'm feeding at 20ec, whats the issue? I water every 12 hours in soil, isn't that right?

I've got a lot of compassion for brand new growers. The 420 internet is a mess. The tactical issues I see the most are over-watering, over-feeding, and too much light. The main strategic issues are mixing and matching advice from multiple growers, trying to buy your way to success, and impatience. If I had to give a single piece of advice to a new grower, it would be to never take advice from someone whose plants you wouldn't want in your garden.

One that I seem to see ALOT besides over-watering. would be chopping at the breeders recommended flower times. Seems like most newbies take the estimated flower time as gospel instead of when the plant is actually ripe......

I found this forum because I was watering too often and didn't know that was wrong. From that point, it feels like I've bounced from one problem to the next. I think that's the way we learn to grow, though. Many say they learn new things with every grow. I believe it.

I'm going to take a risk and put some of the blame on forum members basing their advice on their own growing methods rather than adjusting their advice to the new grower's situation. I've watched this result in confusion and anger. We need to take time to make sure the advice we provide is the right advice for what the new grower is trying to do, if they know what they're trying to do. If not, help them understand their options. There are sets of questions that help new folks provide information we need to advise them.

I’m starting to realize that this is so true.
Pulled a 3 week plant with a small tap root and started thinking where is all that water and fertilizer going?

edit:

Future watering for next month will propably be few desiliters of nutes around plant and plain water around that. With good drying time inbetween.

100% agreed, exactly why we ask those questions, it’s not to be nosy, it’s to know what there working with before actions are taken.

I think the advice to water plants rarely is one of the worst that is repeatedly given. Most people grow with grow soils that consist of peat and perlite. That peat can be used as a hydroponic medium is often mentioned, and imho this study clearly shows that peat/vermiculite and so also peat/perlite can be treated in the same way as rockwool and coco.
This advice may help with heavy soils, but make sure to water your grow soils regularly.

In addition, there are all the fertilizers with not fitting formulations for cannabis. There are still unnecessary PK boosters, way too much P, wrong micro ratios, and so on everywhere.

There's always a slew of things beginners do wrong(including me XD) everyone messes up in the beginning its how you learn. I love running u to problems because it means you'll solve it and hopefully never have the same problem again, because you've learned. That being said imo beginners always run into watering problems, lighting problems, fertilization problems. The one thing I wish someone would've explained to me in the beginning is learn everything about vpd, and how it affects the plant. Don't follow charts like they're gospel either. Look at your plant and it'll tell you what it needs, whether it's ripe etc.etc. look for the signs from your plant don't just blindly do things because the chart or schedule says so. Just my 2 cents :)

I don't, so that assumption wouldn't have worked for me.

I think I've done most of it overwatering being done the most.Over fertilize and killing plants with the sun thinking more heat more energy to grow lol and the more nutes the quicker the grow lol.but I am really thankfull for all that mistakes it made me learn from it.Mistakes that aren't learnt from but if you learn from it it becomes a lesson.Killed more plants then fingers on my 2 hands lol

Something that I noticed is that confidence and attitude are mucked up.

Some are know it all’s and others need to be hand held.

I’ve seen my own grow go in a bad direction more than once even with staff support. I gave up control to follow another with more experience and knowledge. Didn’t mean they where right.

Pics, information and opinions are just that. They help but it’s up to you to choose who and what advice to follow. It’s your grow and no ones fault but you’re own how it turns out.

Some members don’t want you to question their help. I don’t do well that way. I want to know why/how come? I’m not trying to be difficult I want to understand and learn. Trust is also a part of it. So some members will just walk away rather that adjust to the user they are helping.

I’m just glad most of us get along and we get good results more often than not.

as a PRO grower,4th or 5th crop, i know more than all of you !
that's why i come here at least 5 times a day to read.
so if any of you wanna be pro's need help, just ask.
i'm betting it's a calmag issue or over watering thing.
or maybe your just to stupid to grow anything, including your knowledge.
so as a said, ask me anything.

as long as it is about building a home
lol
