How To Set Up Chiller? Help

so i got one of those 1/4hp chillerss and want to chill my res, now do i just run a sub pump from inside my res with tubing into the "IN" fitting and then run tubing from the "OUT" fitting into the resivior? is that how yoiu set up a chiller? is it ok if the res that im chilling have nutrients in it?

Yes that works. Other people use cooling coils. Having your pump connected directly to the chiller works better.

As for long term use, I don't know what kind of metal is used inside the chiller. I'm guessing since all this hydro stuff is crap, it's not meant for long term use.

what do you mean by having the pump connected directly to the chiller??

The pump water outlet is connected to the water chiller inlet via tubing.

Typically you run your pump inline to your hydro system, so the end of your hydro loop goes into your chiller then your chiller runs to your res to outlet into restarting the cycle. I would need to know what type of system you have for more info.
