This site may help. Keep your coco moist is my advice. Daily fertigations with runoff discarded. Coco is a hydro medium. It's damn near impossible to overwater.

Coco is interesting because you can treat it like soil, with larger watering volumes and longer dry-backs, or more like hydro, with smaller, more frequent waterings. If you go with longer dry-backs, you'll get more "soil like" results. If you run more like hydro, you'll get faster growth. One of the things that will determine how successful that is will be how well the coco has been washed prior to potting up. If there are still a ton of smalls and dust, the coco won't drain as well, and over-watering becomes more of a factor. I drip fertigate in 100% coco, using Blumats in small-ish pots. By the end of flower, the Blumats are dripping all the time.

Once roots are established in the medium you will want to water everyday to 10-15% runoff the entire grow. As plants grow larger your amount of water you use will increase, but still needs every day watering.

I water my coco more similar to soil giving a dry back of about 48 hours after saturation. My coco is heavily amended and I do not add nutes for most waterings

I didn't know any better when I started. Lol. I been doing it this way for the duration of this grow. Seem to be working awesome so I'm just going to finish this out with that watering style.

The whole point of coco is to get explosive growth like hydro. Coco retains around %10 oxygen even when 100% saturated. For best results keep coco saturated 90-100% at all times once root zone is established enough.

There is a reason hydro is so popular, for its fast vigorous growth and bud size you can get vs soil. Can literally go through the Vegetative stage in half the time. If you treat coco like soil only watering every couple days or when the plant feels light, then you will get slower soil like growth.

If you treat the coco like hydro and keep the EC and PPMs in its ideal range in the root zone the entire grow is when you will get hydro rate and size of growth. This is achieved by keeping the coco 90-100% saturated, which means every day watering until run off 10% or so.

Fun article I read ran experiments and found 1x per day was the best for coco. They tried 4x, 8x, and 16x watering per day and found the 1x made the largest yield due to the slight dry backs. 1x day = 1.3g per watt vs multiple waterings = 0.9g per watt.

Of course that was only one study, so not like it's concrete proof but makes you think some.

Everyone has their own way of what they like. But the science says to get maximum growth and yield from coco, it should be watered everyday when root zone is established.
