Ahem*(nervously clears throat)
Hi, My name is THsea and I've been addicted to growing cannabis for over 20 years. Im not trying to stop, I just felt the group should know.

So I have been out of the cannabis cultivating scene for quite some years now due to, well, life and responsibilities, you all know the story, boy meets girl. blah blah blah. Anyways im finally in a position to pick up my old hobby again so lets see if I still got it I guess. All is welcome here to comment and critique. So the set up I'm running is quite basic, since I've been away for so long im using the K.I.S.S method and starting small with just two plants in rotation, one in veg and one in flower in the same grow space (which only works if at least 1 of them is an auto, which is my case, 1 auto and 1 photo). I started the auto, OG Kush back on Dec 8th, and the photo, Blueberry muffin I started mid Jan.
All my genetics come from the Humboldt Seed Co. I've used them in the past and they have never let me down.
My seed bank,
  • OG Kush - Auto
  • Blueberry Muffin - Photo
  • Purple Panty Dropper - Photo
  • Notorious THC - Photo
My current grow:
1 OG Kush Auto - currently in week 5 of flower (in the plastic 5gal)
1 Blueberry muffin - currently in week 4 of veg (In the 5gal fabric pot)
600W LED
Fox Farm OF. soil (with added perlite for drainage and dol. lime to aid in cal/mag and PH buffer, and Myco +)

Im calling this the Humboldt Haven - Corner Café in hopes in might draw in other's who have already grown or plan on growing with Humboldt genetics. What to expect and how to better care for that particular strain from the same breeder. But like I said, all is welcome here.

I still have a lot to learn. I know the pic's are not the best quality but if you look at my flowing plant I had a N def. right after starting showing pistols, misdiagnosed it thinking it's couldn't be N def. in flowering and ended up burning her a little bit, but got the N finally back under control and she has recovered nicely from her burns. So fingers crossed I have no more problems for the next 3-4 weeks till I can hang her up. I just miss the feeling of how rewarding it can feel to make it through a grow successfully.

Like wise! Im trying to figure it out. I have had a TON of help from folks here on the farm, along with just reading through threads here. Lots of info! : )
Nice job on the recovery! I did that this last round! but I zigged when I should of zagged and shit got a little weird and I ended up chopping early. im trying a little different approach this current run. Having a lot of fun though along the way!

Just a quick update. She is coming along beautifully. Coming up on week 6 getting close to the end. She is fatting up nicely and her fall colors are coming out. How much longer would you wait to chop?

I was introduced to HSC via the 2 dollar pheno hunters from NASC. My only regret is that I didn't buy more.
I'm just finishing up a run that included, Gazurple, Gazurple x Macaroon and Mountain top mint x Humboldt pound cake.
Pretty much all the HSC stuff is fire.
Here's Mountaintop mint x Humboldt pound cake, coming down next week. 8 weeks of flower and fully seeded.

Can you see what the trichomes are doing on the buds? What kind of “high” are looking for? Without seeing a close of up the trichomes on the buds and looking at the hairs Im going to say a couple weeks : ) wait for a couple more responses though : )

Grown six or seven HSC. strains with good results for the most part! The only one I wouldn’t grow again, is blueberry muffin! Wasn’t happy in my outdoor climate!

A couple more weeks at least.
I like to describe the ripening process like so.
There are basically 3 stages of flowering. 1st stage pistils form plants start with little clovers and then start pumping out white hairs, the more hairs the bigger the buds. 2nd stage pistils turn brown and recede or fall off and calyx's start to form. Last stage calyx's plump up and blossom and trichromes go from clear to cloudy to amber.
I would say you are late into the 2nd stage. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to cut the nutrients down to 50% in the last couple of weeks.
Remember it's not the white hairs that get you high, it's the velvet covered calyx's that have the most THC.

You're not the first to disparage blueberry muffin. I wouldn't grow OG Kush x Vanilla frosting again, didn't care for the taste.
