So i just got this vivo sun humidifier i forget brand i had last time but it kept it at 65 this one keeps it at 48 it looks like it releases more water vapor to maybe i should turn off my outtake fan for alittle? Then run it back on so the humidity can get trapped? Any suggestions would be awesome!

Did it hit and stay at 99% humidity for any length of time? See if there is a 3 second on and 3 second off option for the humidity. Its OK to have a higher humidity percent during the veg stage but try to lower or even turn off the humidifier during flower or bloom stage.

Turning the fan off will only increase the humidity until the fan comes back on and exchanges the air again which should be less than a minute.

what temp are you running your tent? What is the temp outside the tent?

I use a humidifier filter similar to the one in the pic, place in a bowl of water with 1/2 of the filter sticking out of the bowl and place directly in front of the air intake for the tent. Basically you are adding moisture to the air as it comes into the tent instead of attempting to treat it after it is in the tent.

the bigger your plants get the less of an issue it will be to keep the RH where you want it.

if you use distilled water the filter will last longer due to less mineral buildup on the filter

Well you’ve got two issues I can think of off the top of my head. Volume and air temp. You’re trying to humidify a decent volume(amount)) of air. The air temp being a little higher also raises the dew point which in turn creates a drier environment than what you’d like.

That being said you can do a few things to solve it. Either move them to a space that’s smaller so the humidifier can keep up or lower the temps inside the tent. Lowering the temp won’t have much of an effect but remember that for later on when you only need to shift the RH a little bit.

Once the plants get bigger you should be fine. At this size they tend to not transpire a lot of moisture into the air and therefore your grow space is reading drier(lower RH) than you’d like.

Of course you could always get another unit to compliment the one you have or replace it with a larger humidifier.

You can also use a dome to keep the humidity up in a confined space. This may be the easiest and most cost effective solution until the plants get bigger. A two liter bottle with the mouth cut off is a popular solution many farmers use in this kind of situation.
